Content: Abstract: Im Laufe der vierzig Jahre, die seit Mukaiyamas ersten Berichten zur Verwendung von Silicium‐ und Borenolaten in gezielten Aldolreaktionen vergangen sind, hat sich diese in hohem Maße kontrollierte Kohlenstoff‐Kohlenstoff‐Kupplung aufgrund ihrer Fähigkeit zur simultanen Definition der Stereochemie, Einführung der Komplexität und Aufbau des Kohlenstoffgerüsts mit einem charakteristischen Oxygenierungsmuster als eine leistungsstarke Methode für die Naturstoffsynthese etabliert. Dieser Kurzaufsatz präsentiert repräsentative Totalsynthesen, die die Bedeutung der Mukaiyama‐Aldolreaktion veranschaulichen, und diskutiert die zugrundeliegenden Mechanismen, die für die stereochemische Anordnung entscheidend sind.
