Wenn man verstehen will, wie Kinder in unsere Gesellschaft hineinwachsen, sollte man sich mit ihren sehr frühen sozialen Erfahrungen und Beziehungen befassen. Bindungen entwickeln sich aber im Einzelnen unterschiedlich und werden in ihrer Qualität und Stabilität sehr stark dadurch beeinflusst, wie Mütter, Väter oder andere Bezugspersonen mit den heranwachsenden Kindern umgehen. In diesem Buch zusammenfassend dargestellt, wie die frühen Bindungs- und Interaktionserfahrungen die Sozialisation von Kindern und Jugendlichen beeinflussen. Sie sind wichtig für die Entwicklung der kindlichen Kooperationsbereitschaft, die Verinnerlichung elterlicher Anforderungen und die moralische Entwicklung von Kindern, die Entwicklung der sozialen Kompetenzen von Kindern und die Entwicklung von Aggressivität und Gewaltbereitschaft.
