JOTS‐21‐0095.R2 Spanish Abstracts by Asociación Chilena de Estrés Traumático (ACET) Trastorno por estrés postraumático y funcionamiento de relación: Examinando diferencias de género en la búsqueda de tratamiento de parejas de veteranos. DIFERENCIAS DE GÉNERO EN TEPT Y RELACIONES Los síntomas de Trastorno por Estrés Postraumático (TEPT) están robustamente asociados con disfunción en las relaciones íntimas en veteranos, pero la mayoría de la investigación reciente se ha enfocado en los veteranos hombres y en sus parejas mujeres. El vínculo entre TEPT y funcionamiento de la relación puede diferir entre parejas donde la mujer es veterana y parejas donde el hombre es veterano. El presente estudio, usó modelos de interdependencia sujeto‐pareja (Actor‐partner interdependence models, APIMs en su sigla en inglés) para probar las asociaciones entre síntomas de TEPT (p. ej., autoreporte del veterano o reporte colateral de un otro significativo) y el reporte de las dos personas de la pareja del funcionamiento de la relación en seis dominios, así como también si estos vínculos estaban moderados por el género de quienes componían la pareja. Los datos pertenecieron a 197 parejas de género mixto ( N = 394 individuos) las que completaron evaluaciones de estado basal para un estudio de ensayo controlado aleatorizado más grande de tratamiento de TEPT basado en la pareja. Los reportes de un otro significativo de TEPT colateral estuvieron asociados con sus propias evaluaciones de satisfacción con la relación, negociación, agresión psicológica, placer sexual y frecuencia del deseo sexual, |β| s = .19‐.67, y con evaluaciones de los veteranos de negociación y frecuencia del deseo sexual, |β| s = .20‐.48. En contraste, el autoreporte de síntomas de TEPT de los veteranos solo se asoció con su propia evaluación de agresión psicológica, β = .16. El género moderó las asociaciones entre los reportes de TEPT colateral de un otro significativo y el resultado de cinco de las seis variables; hallazgos de un análisis exploratorio de subgrupo sugieren que el vínculo entre los síntomas reportados de TEPT y el funcionamiento de la relación eran generalmente más desadaptativas en parejas donde el hombre es veterano, mientras que las parejas en las que la mujer es veterana mostraron impactos más neutros e incluso impactos útiles de los síntomas de TEPT percibidos por la pareja. Estos hallazgos tienen implicancias para los clínicos que tratan los impactos relacionales del TEPT y enfatizan la necesidad de mayor investigación con parejas donde la mujer es veterana.
