Ingfried Hoffmann hatte den Ruf, Europas bester Hammond-B-3-Organist zu sein, was gelegentlich seine gleichwertigen Fähigkeiten als Pianist, Arrangeur und Komponist überschattete. Als Mitglied des berühmten Klaus-Doldinger-Quartetts gewann Hoffmann mehrere Wettbewerbe als Deutschlands bester Jazzorganist und -pianist. »Soul Bond« wurde erstmals 1966 in Deutschland unter dem Titel »From Twen With Love« veröffentlicht, als der James-Bond-Hype nach dem weltweiten Erfolg von »Thunderball« seinen Höhepunkt erreichte. Inspiriert von den ersten vier Bond-Filmen legte Hoffmann nicht nur fantastisch swingende Interpretationen von Bond-Themen vor, sondern glänzte auch mit eigenen Kompositionen, die dem berühmten Super-Spion gewidmet waren.
