Das ab 1586 in den Besitz des Grafenpaares Wolfgang II. und Magdalena von Hohenlohe übergegangene Schloss Weikersheim bietet das fast ungestörte Bild einer vergangenen Zeit. Zugleich bildet es den Höhepunkt der südwestdeutschen Baukunst der Renaissance und des Barock. Das ursprünglich als Wasserburg erbaute Schloss wurde im Renaissancestil umfassend erweitert. Die architektonische Idee eines dreieckigen Schlossgrundrisses stellt bis heute eine Besonderheit dar. Neben dem berühmten Rittersaal und der großartigen Schlossfassade entstanden in der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts prächtige Wohnräume, der Schlossgarten und die Orangerie, durch die Schloss Weikersheim zu einer barocken Residenz avancierte. Im 19. Jahrhundert versank der Stammsitz der Grafen von Hohenlohe in einen Dornröschenschlaf. Heute können die original ausgestatteten barocken Wohngemächer im schlosseigenen Museum und die Schlossanlage bei einem eindrucksvollen Spaziergang neu erlebt werden.
