Abstract:
The (Pb 0.6 Sr 0.4 )TiO 3 (PSrT) ceramics processed by the microwave sintering technique, exhibiting unique high- T c behavior and low resistivity, were examined using a scanning electron microscope, scanning transmission electron microscope with energy dispersive spectroscopy, and electron diffraction in the present work. The results imply that different atomic species may interact differently with microwaves and produce a large strain field within materials, suggesting that domain mobility is restricted in the specimens due to lattice distortions. The Pb-species distribution and complicated domain arrangements induced by the strain field greatly influence the electrical properties of the materials.
