Abstract: In wrestling, weight categories are defined by rules, so the morphological composition of the body is an important factor in success. The subject of the paper is the morphological parameters of the examinees and the preparedness parameters on the Specific Wrestling Performance Test (SWPT). The aim of the research is to determine the influence of morphological characteristics on physical fitness, and the way of recovery of functional characteristics, as well as their interrelations and regularities. The sample consists of 26 wrestlers aged 20.2 ± 1.7 years, training experience 6.7 ± 3.2 years, number of weekly training 7.8 ± 1.9, body height 178.9 ± 5.6 cm, body weight 82.9 ± 7.4 kg, body mass index 25.9 ± 2.0 kg/m2. From the aspect of morphological characteristics, the percentage of body fat - PBF, the percentage of muscle mass - SMM (InBody 720) were observed; as a parameter of preparedness, the total number of throws on the test was taken - TnThrows; while functional characteristics were defined as the percentage recovery of pulse frequency from the end of the test to the 1st and 3rd minute - DHR1min and DHR3min. Correlation statistics and linear regression analysis were used to determine the relations. Defined analyzes did not show a significant correlation between SMM and any other monitored variable, while PBF showed a highly statistically significant correlation with TnThrows (r = -0.608, p = 0.001), and a significant correlation with DHR3min (r = -0.429; p = 0.029 ). Significant correlations were also determined between TnThrows and functional recovery characteristics (DHR1min, r = 0.522, p = 0.006; DHR3min, r = 0.454, p = 0.020). In the homogeneous groups, such as actively trained wrestlers, the percentage of muscle component is uniform, while training is significantly different, which partially affects the different representation of fat component, and all this definitely affects the success and recovery of wrestlers.

Abstract: In the field of non-platinum complexes, ruthenium complexes have shown very strong antitumor activity on various types of cisplatin-resistant tumors. In addition, Ru(II) and Ru(III) complexes have shown a high degree of selectivity towards cancer cells as well as antimetastatic effects. Importantly, ruthenium compounds can bind to the DNA molecule of a tumor cell and thus reduce the viability of cancer cells. Moreover, ruthenium complexes can bind to human serum albumin and transferrin, which makes their transfer to tumor cells more efficient than platinum compounds. Consequently, the research aim was to investigate the antitumor effect of two synthesized Ru(II) complexes [Ru(Cl-Ph-tpy)(phen)Cl]Cl (K1) and [Ru(Cl-Ph-tpy)(o-bqdi)Cl] Cl (K2) on the HCT 116 cell line, and to define the mechanism of cell death that these compounds induce in HCT 116 cancer cells. Results of our research clearly showed that the two investigated ruthenium complexes K1 and K2 showed very strong antitumor activity against the HCT 116 tumor cell line. Additionally, ruthenium complex K1 showed higher antitumor activity than ruthenium K2 complex and cisplatin after 72 hours of treatment. Our findings demonstrated that both K1 and K2 ruthenium compounds exhibited strong antitumor activity against HCT 116 cell line by induction of early apoptosis.

Abstract: Objective. After the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV -2 virus, enormous pressure fell on the entire health system. Since there is no adequate cure for this disease, "off-label" use of several drugs (azithromycin, chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine, etc.) was resorted to. The aim of this study was to analyse QTc interval dynamics and its relationship with other factors which could influence outcome in patients with COVID-19. Methods. Study has observational, case-control design with retrospective data collection from medical files of adult patients, with RT-PCR confirmed COVID-19. The cases (n=30) were subjects with fatal outcome and the controls (n=169) were the survivors. The QTc interval was calculated on admission, during and after initial drug treatments with presumed activity against SARS-CoV-2, mostly antimalarials. Primary independent and outcome variables were QTc interval prolongation and all-cause mortality, respectively. Results. Study population included 120 males (60.3%), the mean patients age was 57.3+-15.8 years (+-SD). The most common comorbid illnesses were hypertension (98 patients), pre-existing arrhythmias (32) and diabetes mellitus (29). The most frequently prescribed QTc prolonging drugs were azithromycin (69.8% of patients), chloroquine (50.3%) and hydroxychloroquine (42.7%). Total of 131 patients (65.8%) had QTc interval increase 〉 60 ms from baseline, of whom 5 had QTc prolongation 〉 500 ms (2.5%). De novo ventricular tachyarrhythmias were registered at 14 patients (7%) and 13 (92.8%) of them died. Pre-existing arrhythmias (odds ratio 9.30, 95% confidence interval 2.91-29.73, p 〈 0.001) and furosemide (8.94, 3.27-24.41, p 〈 0.001) were independently associated with mortality but QTc prolongation ( 〉 480 ms) did not (1.02, 0.22-4.67, p=0.974). Case fatality rate was 15.1%, as 30 patients died during hospitalization. Conclusion. Clinical importance of drug-induced QTc interval prolongation of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 should be considered primarily within the context of other risks, particularly older age, pre-existing cardiovascular disorders and major electrolyte disturbances.

Abstract: Non-pharmacological treatment including diet, body weight reduction, smoking cessation and physical activity, is very important part of hypertension treatment. The objective of this study was to investigate the adherence to healthy lifestyle behavior in the representative sample of the older hypertensive patients, and to investigate factors associated with adherence in the studied older population. The study was conducted on random sample of 362 long term hypertensive ( 〉 five years) patients older than 65 years of age, at Health Care Center of Kragujevac. Adherence was assessed using the structured questionnaire for the analysis of the implementation of both hypertension and diabetes guidelines in the primary care. Both bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted. Nearly 35% of examined patients were highly adherent; they exercised regularly, avoided smoking for at least five years and consumed special healthy diet prescribed for hypertension. Another 35.6% of the cases reported exercising regularly, 39.5% followed the recommended diet for the hypertension, while 23.4% of the patients have still consumed cigarettes. Multivariate logistic regression demonstrated that received counseling on healthy lifestyle behaviors by physicians and lack of education predicted high adherence to healthy lifestyle behavior. In order to improve adherence of elderly hypertensive patients to healthy lifestyle, strengthening patient-physician relationships through efforts to enhance communication may be a promising strategy to enhance patients’ engagement in healthy lifestyle behaviors for hypertension. Such an improvement could be achieved through the education of both the physicians and patients.
