Abstract: The association between Interleukin-23R gene polymorphism and Crohn’s disease (CD) in Caucasians is still controversial. Thus, a meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between this gene variant and CD risk. We retrieved the available data from EMBASE and PUBMED until May 1, 2014, and evaluated the effect of rs7517847 in Caucasians. The significant associations were confirmed between rs7517847 and CD risk in dominant models (TT/TG versus GG: OR = 1.652, 95% CI 1.277, 2.137), allelic model (T allele versus G allele: OR = 1.327, 95% CI 1.198, 1.469), homozygote comparison (TT versus GG: OR = 1.890, 95% CI 1.465, 2.437), heterozygote comparison (TG versus GG: OR = 1.509, 95% CI 1.161, 1.960), and recessive model (TT versus TG/GG: OR = 1.409, 95% CI 1.279, 1.552). In conclusion, this meta-analysis demonstrates that rs7517847 is associated with the risk of CD in Caucasians. These findings show that IL-23R genes confer susceptibility to CD in the Caucasians.

Abstract: With the diversification of pit mine slope monitoring and the development of new technologies such as multisource data flow monitoring, normal alert log processing system cannot fulfil the log analysis expectation at the scale of big data. In order to make up this disadvantage, this research will provide an ensemble prediction algorithm of anomalous system data based on time series and an evaluation system for the algorithm. This algorithm integrates multiple classifier prediction algorithms and proceeds classified forecast for data collected, which can optimize the accuracy in predicting the anomaly data in the system. The algorithm and evaluation system is tested by using the microseismic monitoring data of an open-pit mine slope over 6 months. Testing results illustrate prediction algorithm provided by this research can successfully integrate the advantage of multiple algorithms to increase the accuracy of prediction. In addition, the evaluation system greatly supports the algorithm, which enhances the stability of log analysis platform.

Abstract: Background. Esophageal cancer is the most prevalent digestive system tumor. Due to a lack of characteristic symptoms and early diagnosis, a confirmed esophageal cancer is typically detected at a progressively harmful stage. Therefore, it is critical to investigate the molecular mechanisms governing the formation and progression of esophageal cancer in order to identify new treatment targets for esophageal cancer early detection. Methods. We first screened the differentially expressed gene LINC00240 in the TCGA database. Multivariate analysis and Cox regression were performed, and a nomogram was constructed for internal validation. The correlation between LINC00240 and immune cells was analyzed using the TIMER database. The possible mechanism of action was explored through GSEA enrichment analysis. Then, in 43 esophageal cancer tissues, paracancour tissues, and cell lines, the LINC00240 expression was found. Transwell assays, CCK-8, and clone formation assays were utilized to assess the impact of LINC00240 on the metastasis of esophageal cancer cells. The binding activity of LINC00240 to downstream miRNAs was assessed using the luciferase reporter gene. Results. TCGA database showed that LINC00240 expression was increased in cancer tissues compared to adjacent tissues. The C-index of the nomogram is 0.712 (0.666–0.758), and the prediction model has good accuracy. According to the TIMER database, the LINC00240 expression is linked to immune infiltration and may be crucial in encouraging the immune escape of tumor cells. Gene enrichment analysis depicts that LINC00240 could influence the biological events of esophageal cancer by taking part in pathways such as affecting the cell cycle. LINC00240 expression was substantially greater in the plasma of esophageal cancer patients (3.94 ± 1.55) than in the normal control group (2.13 ± 0.89). Plasma expression of LINC00240 was linked to the degree of differentiation ( P = 0.0345 ) and TNM stage ( P = 0.0409 ). Knocked down LINC00240 inhibited esophageal cancer cells proliferation, lone formation, and invasion. LINC00240 might bind itself to miR-26a-5p and influence its expression. MiR-26a-5p inhibitor can dramatically limit the ability of LINC00240 knockdown on plate colony formation and relocation of esophageal cancerous cells was demonstrated in colony formation and migration experiments. Conclusion. LINC00240 expression is elevated in esophageal cancerous tissues, and knocking down LINC00240 decreases esophageal cancer cell proliferation, clone formation, invasion, and migration via miR-26a-5p. As a result, LINC00240 could be a novel target for esophageal cancer patients' early diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract: We modified the content of rare-earth elements (REE) in the flux-cored wire used to produce welds of high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel. The effect of REE addition on the microstructure as well as on the mechanical and electrochemical properties of the welded metal (WM) was investigated. REE-modified welded metals show very different responses during electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the potentiodynamic polarization tests. The results indicate that the addition of REE of 0.3 wt.% facilitates a more uniform microstructure and improves both mechanical properties and corrosion resistance in welded metals.

Abstract: Purpose. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of nicorandil for periprocedural myocardial injury in patients undergoing PCI through meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. Methods. We analyzed the clinical data of patients including the incidence of periprocedural myocardial injury (PMI) and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) from selected articles. RCTs were retrieved from medical literature databases. RR and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated to compare the endpoints. Results. In total, 15 articles (16 trial comparisons) were retrieved which contained 2221 patients. In general, 1130 patients (50.9%) were randomized to the experimental group, whereas 1091 patients (49.1%) were randomized to the control group. The result showed that nicorandil significantly reduced the incidence of PMI and MACE after PCI compared to the control group. Conclusions. Overall, early use of nicorandil in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was associated with a significant reduction of PMI and MACE.

Abstract: Task scheduling plays a critical role in the performance of the edge-cloud collaborative. Whether the task is executed in the cloud and how it is scheduled in the cloud is an important issue. On the basis of satisfying the delay, this paper will schedule tasks on edge devices or cloud and present a task scheduling algorithm for tasks that need to be transferred to the cloud based on the catastrophic genetic algorithm (CGA) to achieve global optimum. The algorithm quantifies the total task completion time and the penalty factor as a fitness function. By improving the roulette selection strategy, optimizing mutation and crossover operator, and introducing cataclysm strategy, the search scope is expanded. Furthermore, the premature problem of the evolutionary algorithm is effectively alleviated. The experimental results show that the algorithm can address the optimal local issue while significantly shortening the task completion time on the basis of satisfying tasks delays.

    Abstract: This paper focuses on the global existence and time-decay rates of the strong solution for the Boussinesq system with full viscosity in R n for n ≥ 3 . Under the initial assumption of θ 0 , u 0 ∈ L n / 3 × L n with a small norm, and n 〉 3 or n = 3 and θ 0 ∈ L r 0 for some r 0 〉 1 , global existence and uniqueness of the strong solution θ , u for the Boussinesq system is established. This solution is proven to obey the following estimates: θ t r ≤ C t − 3 − n / p / 2 for n / 3 ≤ p 〈 ∞ , u t p ≤ C t − 1 − n / q / 2 for n ≤ q ≤ ∞ , ∇ θ t p ≤ C t − 3 − n / p / 2 − 1 / 2 and ∇ 2 θ t p = O t − n 1 / r − 1 / p / 2 − 1 as t ⟶ ∞ for r ≤ p 〈 n / 2 , and ∇ u t q ≤ C t − 1 − n / q / 2 − 1 / 2 and ∇ 2 u t q = O t − n 1 / r − 1 / q / 2 − 1 as t ⟶ ∞ for n ≤ q 〈 2 n , where r = n / 3 if n 〉 3 and 1 〈 r 〈   min r 0 , n / 2 if n = 3 .

Abstract: Ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma (OV) is a fatal gynecologic cancer with a five-year survival rate of only 46%. Resistance to platinum-based chemotherapy is a prevalent factor in OV patients, leading to increased mortality. The platinum resistance in OV is driven by transcriptome heterogeneity and tumor heterogeneity. Studies have indicated that ovarian cancer stem cells (OCSCs), which are chemoresistant and help in disease recurrence, are enriched by platinum-based chemotherapy. Stem cells have a significant influence on the OV progression and prognosis of OV patients and are key pathology mediators of OV. However, the molecular mechanisms and targets of OV have not yet been fully understood. In this study, systematic research based on the TCGA-OV dataset was conducted for the identification and construction of key stem cell-related diagnostic and prognostic models for the development of multigene markers of OV. A six-gene diagnostic and prognostic model (C19orf33, CBX2, CSMD1, INSRR, PRLR, and SLC38A4) was developed based on the differentially expressed stem cell-related gene model, which can act as a potent diagnostic biomarker and can characterize the clinicopathological properties of OV. The key genes related to stem cells were identified by screening the genes differentially expressed in OV and control samples. The mRNA-miRNA-TF molecular network for the six-gene model was constructed, and the potential biological significance of this molecular model and its impact on the infiltration of immune cells in the OV tumor microenvironment were elucidated. The differences in immune infiltration and stem cell-related biological processes were determined using gene set variation analysis (GSVA) and single-sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) for the selection of molecular treatment options and providing a reference for elucidating the posttranscriptional regulatory mechanisms in OV.

Abstract: Aim . Pancreatic cancer is one of the most quickly fatal cancers around the world. Burgeoning researches have begun to prove that mitochondria play a crucial role in cancer treatment. Mitofusin2 (Mfn2) plays an indispensable role in mitochondrial fusion and adjusting function. However, the role and underlying mechanisms of Mfn2 on cell autophagy of pancreatic cancer is still unclear. Our aim was to explore the effect of Mfn2 on multiple biological functions involving cell autophagy in pancreatic cancer. Methods . Pancreatic cancer cell line, Aspc-1, was treated with Ad-Mfn2 overexpression. Western blotting, caspase-3 activity measurement, and CCK-8 and reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay were used to examine the effects of Mfn2 on pancreatic cancer autophagy, apoptosis, cell proliferation, oxidative stress, and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling. The expression of tissue Mfn2 was detected by immunohistochemical staining. Survival analysis of Mfn2 was evaluated by OncoLnc. Results . Mfn2 improved the expression of LC3-II and Bax and downregulated the expression of P62 and Bcl-2 in pancreatic cancer cells. Meanwhile, Mfn2 also significantly inhibited the expression of p-PI3K, p-Akt, and p-mTOR proteins in pancreatic cancer cells. In addition, Mfn2 inhibited pancreatic cancer cell proliferation and ROS production. Assessment of Kaplan-Meier curves showed that Mfn2 − pancreatic cancer has a worse prognosis than Mfn2 + pancreatic cancer has. Conclusions . Our finding suggests that Mfn2 induces cell autophagy of pancreatic cancer through inhibiting the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. Meanwhile, Mfn2 also influences multiple biological functions of pancreatic cancer cells. Mfn2 may act as a therapeutic target in pancreatic cancer treatment.

Abstract: Capillarity influences the long-term stability of the dam greatly and affects the sustainable development of tailings dam. The online monitoring capillary water rise test system was independently developed by SM3001B temperature and humidity sensor, SU9101B RS485 converter, SV3010 data acquisition system, and other equipment to carry out the whole process test of water absorption and water release of tailings with different particle sizes. The results show that the capillary rising trend of tailings with different particle sizes is basically consistent, the relationship between the rising height and the diameter are negatively correlated, and the logarithm function can better fit the height of capillary rising over time well enough. The water content of tailing capillary zone decreases with the height, and the smaller the size of tailings, the greater the change of water content. The water release process of tailings is an unsaturated permeability process, which largely depends on the saturation before water release. The larger the particle size of tailings is, the smaller the water content after water release. Based on the above results, the relationship between capillary diameter and tailings particle size was discussed, and the relationship formula between water content change and particle size was deduced. The research results systematically show the water migration law under the tailing capillaries. It is suggested that the unsaturated tailings water content index should be added in the monitoring of the saturated surface of tailings dam.
