Abstract:
Metalloide Goldcluster haben einzigartige Eigenschaften in Bezug auf ihre Größe und ihre Struktur und spielen eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Betrachtung des Übergangs von molekularer Verbindung zur Festkörperphase des jeweiligen Metalls. Im Folgenden wird die Synthese des ausschließlich von Phosphan‐Liganden stabilisierten metalloiden Goldclusters Au 20 ( t Bu 3 P) 8 beschrieben, in welchem alle Goldatome in der Oxidationsstufe null vorliegen. Die Einkristallstrukturanalyse ergab eine hochsymmetrische Anordnung der Goldatome als leeres Kuboktaeder, die der Festkörperstruktur von Gold ähnelt. Quantenchemische Rechnungen ergaben, dass der Cluster als 20‐Elektronen Superatom beschrieben werden kann. Die optischen Eigenschaften des Clusters zeigen molekülähnliches Verhalten.
