Abstract:
Impact and Implications. This article addresses three of the United Nation's goals toward sustainable development: Goal 1: No poverty; Goal 4: Quality education; and Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth. By exploring and reporting on what underserved adolescents in Guatemala want for their own futures, themes such as financial security, education, and good jobs were present. These findings show that the aspirational goals of these adolescents align closely with the UN's current sustainable development goals. Parents, teachers, and policy makers can use this information to support adolescents in Guatemala in achieving the goals they have for their own lives.
