Abstract:
Eine Bandstruktur mit lediglich sehr kurzen intermolekularen Cl · Cl‐Kontakten charakterisiert die Kristallpackung von ClF (siehe Bild rechts), Dipol‐Dipol‐Wechselwirkungen treten nicht auf. Die Ursache für diesen überraschenden Befund ist, daß Chlor in ClF gleichzeitig als Elektronendonor‐ und ‐acceptor fungieren kann, wie die experimentell bestimmte Ladungsverteilung und ab‐initio‐Rechnungen am ClF‐Dimer zeigen. magnified image
