Abstract:
Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, das spezifische Potenzial zur Minderung gasförmiger Emissionen in der Milchkuhhaltung durch ein sachdienliches Herdenmanagement und damit auch der vielfältigen (Wirkungs-)Tätigkeit der in den Betrieben praktizierenden Tierärzte aufzuzeigen. Ihnen kommt zukünftig im tierbezogenen Umwelt- und Klimaschutz sicher lich eine beratende Funktion zu. Mit Methoden, die an die der nationalen landwirtschaftlichen Emisionsberichterstattung angelehnt sind, werden die Einflüsse von verbesserter Tiergesundheit, längerer Nutzungsdauer sowie von Weidegang einer gesamten Milchkuhherde (Milchkühe, Kälber, Färsen und Bullen) einschließlich derjenigen Emissionen untersucht, die entlang der gesamten Produktionskette (Bereitstellung von Primärenergie, Pflanzenproduktion und -verarbeitung) entstehen. Ammoniakemissionen stehen dabei im Vordergrund. Die hierbei erzielbaren Minderungen sind nicht groß, aber merklich. Sie sind nicht mit zusätzlichen Kosten belastet. Verbesserung des Tierwohls und der Umweltverträglichkeit gehen in die gleiche Richtung. Die Minderung der Emissionen von Treibhausgasen und luftverschmutzenden (eutrophierenden und versauernden) Gasen und Partikeln ist erklärtes politisches Ziel. Wenn Deutschland hier seine selbst gesetzten Obergrenzen erreichen will, ist auch die Landwirtschaft gefordert, ihren Beitrag zu leisten. Planen wird dem Handeln vorausgehen müssen, wenn man das Gesetz des Handelns nicht anderen überlassen will.
