Abstract:
Es wurde die katalytische Kohlenoxydoxydation an den Halbleiteroxyden CdO, Fe 2 O 3 und ihren Mischungen gemessen. Besonders wurde die Änderung der katalytischen Eigenschaften in den beiden Gebieten geringer Zumischung der anderen Komponente beachtet. An den gleichen Oxyden wurden Messungen des elektrischen Widerstandes, Bestimmungen der Oberflächengröße und röntgenographische Strukturuntersuchungen durchgeführt. CdO ist ein n‐Leiter, Fe 2 O 3 wird als Eigenhalbleiter betrachtet. Die Widerstandsmessungen an Fe 2 O 3 mit geringen Zusätzen von CdO entsprechen dieser Anschauung; bei CdO mit Zusätzen von Fe 2 O 3 liegt eine Anomalie infolge der hohen Eigenleitfähigkeit des CdO vor. Die Reaktiongeschwindigkeiten und die Aktivierungsenergien der Reaktion weisen besonders in den beiden Gebieten geringer Zumischung der anderen Komponente starke Unterschiede auf. Die Aktivierungsenergie der Reaktion am reinen CdO wird durch Zumischung von 0,64 Mol‐% Fe 2 O 3 von 13,2 auf 20 kcal erhöht; die des Fe 2 O 3 (15,4 kcal) auf 6,5 kcal bei Zumischung von 0,4% CdO erniedrigt. Diese starken Unterschiede in der Aktivierungsenergie lassen sich nicht auf Oberflächen‐ oder Gitterveränderungen zurückführen; sie werden in Anwendung der Halbleitertheorie durch den Typ der Fehlordnung und die Art der Beeinflussung der elektronischen Verhältnisse durch den Zuschlag erklärt.
