Abstract:
One of the most serious practical impediments to the widespread application of regional input-output models for impact analysis is, on the one hand, the extreme time and expense required to construct a detailed survey based model and, on the other hand, the practical inability to develop satisfactory low cost models using secondary data methods. This paper extends the earlier work on regional models to the estimation of shortcut impact formulas for interregional output, income and employment multipliers.
