Abstract: Central China harbors the native dart-sac-bearing camaenids Laeocathaica . The genus is revised and seven new species are proposed based on museum material and newly collected specimens. This work confirmed that most Laeocathaica species have restricted habitats. The comparison of the dart sac apparatus among the dart-sac-bearing camaenid genera indicated the importance of the presence of the proximal accessory sac that might be analogous to the membranous/muscular sac surrounding the proximal dart sac and/or the distal region of the vagina near the atrium, which also plays a significant role in the diagnosis of Laeocathaica species based on its number, symmetry and position on the dart sac. Species with similar shell morphology were studied using geometric morphometric methods to detect variations in shell shape. A molecular phylogenetic analysis based on 16S and ITS2 sequence data of partial Laeocathaica species and many other dart-sac-bearing taxa suggested that Laeocathaica might be monophyletic. Furthermore, the present phylogeny indicated that Stilpnodiscus , Cathaica , Bradybaena , and Pseudobuliminus might be polyphyletic and therefore the taxonomy of dart-sac-bearing camaenids in this region requires a thorough revision. This work reconfirms that the Southern Gansu Plateau is important as a hotspot for malacodiversity conservation on the Chinese mainland.

Abstract: The Chinese fauna of the euphorine genus Streblocera Westwood, 1833 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) is revised. Seven new species from China are described and illustrated: Streblocera (Eutanycerus) carinifera Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., S. (E.) laterostriata Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., S. (E.) uncifera Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., S. (S.) interrupta Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., S. (S.) stigenbergae Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., S. (S.) trullifera Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov ., and S. (S.) zoroi Li, Chen and van Achterberg, sp. nov . An identification key to the females of Streblocera from China is provided.

Abstract: Invasive species have impacted biodiversity all around the world. Among various ecosystems, islands are most vulnerable to these impacts due to their high ratio of endemism, highly specialized adaptation, and isolated and unique fauna. As with other subtropical islands, Taiwan faces constant risk of biological invasions and is currently ranked as one of the countries most affected by invasive amphibians and reptiles. In this paper, a comprehensive checklist of all known exotic amphibians and reptiles is provided, including twelve species which have successfully colonized Taiwan and six species with a controversial status. We provide an update on the knowledge of all these species including their distribution, colonization history, threats to native animals, and population trends based on literature records, fauna surveys, and data collected during invasive species eradication and control programs. A list of species with high invasive potentials is also provided. This study reports, for the first time, a comprehensive survey of invasive herpetofauna in Taiwan, which should provide a valuable reference to other regions which might suffer from similar invasion risk.

Abstract: The small, relict-like moth family Endromidae is well-established within the superfamily Bombycoidea, but relationships within the family have remained vague for the last decade, primarily due to very limited taxon sampling. This resulted in the explicit removal of all internal suprageneric classification by Zwick et al. (2011) when they synonymized Mirinidae and the bombycid subfamilies Oberthueriinae and Prismostictinae with Endromidae. Nucleotide and amino acid data sets of the 13 mitochondrial, protein-coding genes from representatives of 13 of the 16 accepted endromid genera were used to estimate phylogenetic relationships based on maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference methods. The results strongly support Endromidae as a monophyletic group and enable the establishment and diagnosis of four subfamilies (Endrominae, Mirininae stat. rev. , Oberthueriinae stat. rev. and Prismostictinae stat. rev. ). Within subfamily Oberthueriinae, we establish three tribes: Oberthueriini stat. rev. , Andracini tribe nov. and Mustiliini tribe nov. We provide morphological diagnoses and a genus-level checklist for the three tribes. Promustilia yajiangensis Wang, X. & Zolotuhin, 2015 is transferred to Mustilizans as M. yajiangensis comb. nov. to establish reciprocal monophyly of the two genera, and Andraca gongshanensis is transferred to Pseudandraca as P. gongshanensis comb. nov. We also synonymize Andraca (Chrypathemola) syn. nov. with Andraca (Andraca), as the latter is deeply nested within the former.

Abstract: The former genus Bournea is endemic to China, including two species, has been under consideration for incorporation into the expanded genus Oreocharis s.l. in Gesneriaceae. The phylogenetic tree inferred from two DNA sequences ( trn L-F and ITS) showed that this genus is deeply nested into Oreocharis s.l. However, the new tree from seven ones ( atp B- rbc L, ndh H- rps15-ycf1 , rpl 132, trn C- trn D, trn L-F, trn T- trn L of chloroplast DNA and ITS regions) revealed that Bournea is the sister group of other of Oreocharis s.l. Furthermore, Bournea is morphologically different from other Oreocharis based on existing data. We suggest keeping Bournea as an independent genus in Gesneriaceae.

Abstract: Two new camaenid land snails are reported from Central China. The new genus, represented by Sinochloritislii Wu & amp; Chen, gen. & amp; sp. nov. , the type of the genus from Sichuan, is close to Yakuchloritis Habe, Nipponochloritis Habe, Neochloritis Minato and Trichochloritis Pilsbry, but is well characterized by the smooth adult shell, highly developed epiphallic papilla, absence of penial caecum, and the presence of an epiphallus-binding muscle that binds the proximal epiphallus to the distal penis. A new species Bradybaenalinjun Wu & amp; Chen, sp. nov. is described from Hubei Province and is characterized by having two shell bands, a spoon-shaped love dart and the proportionally shortest mucous glands among Chinese congeners.

Abstract: A new land snail species that represents a new genus is reported from Hubei, China. The snail has a conical shell with pits and/or granules on embryonic whorls and a smooth teleoconch with straight peristome. The head of the animal has a developed wart. The mantle lobe is only developed on the left side. At the front of the buccal mass there is no chitinous jaw that is without exception seen in Chinese camaenids. Its radular teeth are usually slender and tongue-shaped, not typical in bradybaenine snails. The genital system is typical of Bradybaeninae and is characterized by the absence of a membranous sac surrounding the terminal genitalia, penial caecum or flagellum; a well-developed penis sheath; a symmetrical dart sac apparatus; and one distally branched mucous gland. The new species Sinorachis baihu Wu & amp; Chen, gen. and sp. nov. , is assigned to the type species of the new genus, in which all the known Chinese Rachis species are included. Thereby, the new genus is composed of three species, namely Sinorachis onychinus (Heude), comb. nov. , Sinorachis aureus (Heude), comb. nov. and the new species.

Abstract: The diagnostic characters of the Chinese planthopper genus Sinonissus Wang, Shi & amp; Bourgoin, 2018 are redefined. Three new species of this genus, S. daozhenensis Chang & amp; Chen, sp. nov. (Guizhou), S. hamulatus Chang & amp; Chen, sp. nov. (Guizhou) and S. longicaudus Chang & amp; Chen, sp. nov. (Sichuan) are described and illustrated, and their female genitalia compared. A checklist and key to the Chinese species of Sinonissus are given.
