Abstract: The Oriental and eastern Palaearctic planthopper genus Orthopagus Uhler, 1897 (Hemiptera, Fulgoromorpha, Dictyopharidae, Dictyopharinae, Orthopagini) is revised. Six species are included: O.bartletti Song, Malenovský & amp; Deckert, sp. n. (described from India), O.exoletus (Melichar, 1903), comb. n. , stat. rev. (material studied from India and Sri Lanka), O.hainanensis Song, Chen & amp; Liang, sp. n. (described from China: Hainan island), O.lunulifer Uhler, 1897 (the type species of the genus; confirmed from Japan, China, Vietnam, Laos, India, and Nepal), O.philippinus Melichar, 1914 (Philippines), and O.splendens (Germar, 1830) (confirmed from China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia). Orthopagushelios Melichar, 1912 is newly synonymized with O.lunulifer . Lectotypes are designated for O.helios , O.heliosvar.diffusus Melichar, 1912, O.elegans Melichar, 1912, and O.philippinus . Dictyopharaindiana Walker, 1851 is considered a nomen dubium. All species are redescribed, including habitus photographs and detailed illustrations of the male genitalia. Female genitalia are described for the genus for the first time. A key for identification of the species of Orthopagus and a distribution map are given.

Abstract: Two new species belonging to the varius group of Coccophagus , C. breviclavulus sp. nov. and C. perlucidus sp. nov. , are described from Xishuangbanna Rainforest (China, Yunnan). Coccophagus anchoroides (Huang) and C. yunnana Wang, Huang & amp; Polaszek are recorded. A tentative key to world species of this group is provided. Partial nuclear ribosomal 28S-D2 of these four species and other six species were sequenced and subjected to a phylogenetic analysis. Phylogeny of C. varius group is discussed.

Abstract: Tannins are polyphenols that are present in various plants, and potentially contain antioxidant properties that promote reproduction in animals. This study investigated how tannic acid (TA) affects the reproductive parameters of male Brandt’s voles, Lasiopodomys brandtii (Radde, 1861). Specifically, the anti-oxidative level of serum, autophagy in the testis, and reproductive physiology were assessed in males treated with TA from the pubertal stage. Compared to the control, low dose TA enhanced relative testis and epididymis weight and sperm concentration in the epididymis, and significantly increased the level of serum superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px). mRNA levels of autophagy related genes LC3 and Beclin1 decreased significantly with low dose TA compared to the control. However, compared to the control, high dose TA sharply reduced the levels of serum SOD, GSH-Px, CAT, serum testosterone (T), and mRNA level in steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR) in the testis. Both sperm abnormality and mortality increased with high dose TA compared to the control and low dose TA. Collectively, this study demonstrated that TA treatment during puberty had a dose-dependent effect on the reproductive responses of male Brandt’s voles. TA might mediate autophagy in the testis, through both indirect and direct processes. TA mainly affected the reproductive function of male Brandt’s voles by regulating anti-oxidative levels. This study advances our understanding of the mechanisms by which tannins influence reproduction in herbivores.

Abstract: Using 24.1 fb − 1 of e + e − collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the Born cross sections and effective form factors of the $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ e + e − → Σ + Σ ¯ − reaction are measured. The measurements are performed at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.510 to 4.951 GeV. No significant evidence for the decay of the charmonium(-like) states, ψ (3770), ψ (4040), ψ (4160), Y (4230), Y (4360), ψ (4415), and Y (4660), into a $$ {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ Σ + Σ ¯ − final state is observed. Consequently, upper limits for the products of the branching fractions and the electronic partial widths at the 90% confidence level are reported for these decays.

Abstract: In this paper one new species namely Eumenes ferruapiculus sp. nov. , from Yunnan (China) is described and illustrated in detail. In addition, E. affinissimus de Saussure, 1852, E. aquilonius Yamane, 1977, E. belli Giordani Soika, 1973, E. gibbosus Nguyen, 2015, and E. rubrofemoratus Giordani Soika, 1941 are newly recorded from China. An updated key to the Chinese species of the genus Eumenes is provided.
