Abstract:
We agree with Lister as to the substantial logistics involved in developing heliostat systems for large‐scale solar energy utilization. Our calculations show that solar energy is capable of supplying a large fraction of our energy needs by the year 2000; there are too few possible solutions available that can affect our impending energy crisis significantly. The effect on the economy because of the capital formation burden may be significant but will only be put into perspective after much more study.
