Abstract:
Investigations of fresh fruit bodies of Xerula melanotricha from the locus typi (“Velka Fatra”, ČSSR) and from the GDR (Thüringen) showed that this species has very much specific characters. For examples the appendices rhizomorphae are surrounded by involucra. The investigation of the holotypus of Oudemansiella renati CLÉMENÇON suggested that this taxon is closely related to Xerula nigra . This affinity is expressed taking it as a varietas of X. nigra . The combination Xerula nigra (DÖRFELT) DÖRFELT var. renati (CLÉMENÇON) DÖRFELT is made in this paper. Studies at young fruit bodies of Oudemansiella mucida showed that a velum universale and a velum partiale (armilla) are present. The skin of the cap is not a hymenoderm. Therefore, the generic limit between Oudemansiella and Xerula is well founded. CLÉMENÇON (1980) has provided a new division of the genus Oudemansiella ss. MOSER. His sections Albotomentosae, Protoxerula and Radicatae are in this paper transferred to the genus Xerula (subgen. Radicatae ) in the combinations sect. Albotomentosae (CLEAMENÇON) DÖRFELT, sect. Radicatae (CLÉMENÇON) DÖRFELT and sect. Protoxerula (CLÉMENÇON) DÖRFELT. Remarks about the systematic and the phylogeny of the subgenera, sections and species are offered in a scheme of the genus Xerula .
