Abstract:
El rufián dichoso no es una simple comedia de santos o una hagiografía del estudiante-valentón Lugo en Sevilla (jornada I), ni su metamorfosis definitiva en fray Cristóbal de la Cruz en México (jornadas II y III), sino una ficción erizada de problemas técnicos. De entre ellos, destaca el aquelindo que se canta y baila en el inicio del texto. Mediante un recorrido por opiniones crítico-métricas a propósito de aquelindo, nuestro estudio establece la hipótesis de que esta composición adquiere en Cervantes la forma de un romance-jácara en dos quintillas y cinco redondillas, lejos del perqué tradicional desde el que se ha intentado explicar.
