Abstract:
El presente trabajo examina desde la Teoría de la securitización el discurso del expresidente estadounidense Donald Trump, en relación a la amenaza que para él representan los musulmanes y la inmigración de origen medio oriental. Para tal propósito, se procede al análisis de un conjunto de 10 fragmentos de discurso público y entrevistas pronunciados por el expresidente de EEUU, aplicando el enfoque metodológico de Análisis crítico del Discurso de Fairclough (2001). El objetivo principal es identificar las estrategias discursivas especificadas por Van Dijk (2000, 2006, 2011y 2013) en el discurso de securitización que Trump usa a fin de legitimar su decisión de prohibir la entrada de los musulmanes a EE.UU o “muslim ban”. Asimismo Se trata de averiguar si tales estrategias son ideológicamente marcadas y si el movimiento securitizador en cuestión ha sido exitoso.
