Abstract:
Perawat melakukan tindakan-tindakan yang sebagian besar menggunakan aktivitas tangan berlebih seperti penekanan pada pompa tensimeter, pengetikan dengan komputer dan pendorongan plunger syringe sehingga berisiko mengalami carpal tunnel syndrome. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur prevalensi dan mengevaluasi faktor risiko carpal tunnel syndrome (usia, jenis kelamin, lama bekerja, jabatan, mencuci baju, olahraga dan berkendara) pada perawat di Rumah Sakit Bethesda Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional-analitik dengan desain potong lintang yang dilakukan di rumah sakit Bethesda, Yogyakarta, Indonesia pada Bulan Oktober sampai November 2017. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pengisian kuisioner dan pemeriksaan Phalen dan Tinel pada pergelangan tangan. Analisis chi-square digunakan untuk membandingkan variabel kategorik dan independent T-test dilakukan untuk membandingkan variabel numerik. Terdapat 90 perawat yang terdiri dari 21 laki-laki dan 69 perempuan yang berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Kejadian carpal tunnel syndrome didapatkan pada 16,7% perawat dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara mencuci baju dengan kejadian carpal tunnel syndrome (Pv=0,001; OR=6,333). Tidak ada hubungan signifikan antara jenis kelamin, lama bekerja, jabatan, olahraga, dan berkendara dengan carpal tunnel syndrome.
