Abstract:
Silicon dioxide (SiO 2 ), lithium salt (lithium perchlorate, LiClO 4 ), ionic liquid (IL; 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMIMTFSI]), and succinonitrile (SCN)- based ionogels (IGs) are synthesized using cost-effective non-hydrolytic sol-gel (NHSG) method. The electrochemical stability and electrical properties are associated with their molecular structures. The electrochemical stability of the IGs (I1, I2, and I3) was studied using the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) & lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) methods. AC impedance spectroscopy was used to illustrate the electronic properties of the prepared IGs. The dielectric characteristics of the synthesized IGs were studied at various temperatures and frequencies. The dielectric constant ( ε ′), dielectric loss or dissipation factor ( ε ″), tangent loss (tan δ ), electric modulus (M′ and M″), and AC conductivity ( σ ac ) of SiO 2 /IL based IGs (I1, I2, and I3) were investigated.
