Abstract:
Das Recht auf Bildung ist ein zentrales Menschenrecht gemäß Artikel 26 der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte der Vereinten Nationen vom 10. Dezember 1948. Es gilt als ein zentrales Instrument, um die Verwirklichung anderer Menschenrechte zu fördern. Als solches thematisiert es die Umstände eines diskriminierungskritischen, freien Zugangs zu (Schul)-Bildung für Menschen, der unter Bedingungen geschehen soll, die der Chancengleichheit förderlich sind. Ausgehend von Hannah Arendts kontroversiell rezipierter Einschätzung über Assimilation und Diskriminierung im US-amerikanischen Schulsystem der späten 1950er Jahre anhand des Vorfalls von Little Rock bietet die vorliegende erziehungswissenschaftliche, topisch-strukturelle Argumentationsanalyse eine theoretische Diskussion zum Umgang mit Diversität in Schule als gesellschaftliches Ordnungskonzept. Ausgehend von Strukturen der Ungleichheit in der beschriebenen historischen Momentaufnahme im US-amerikanischen Bildungssystem wird ein Blick auf die gegenwärtige Situation in österreichischen Schulen im urbanen Raum gewährt.
