Abstract:
Die russische Außenpolitik widerspiegelt die autoritäre Regression im Innern. Eine Wertegemeinschaft ist mit dem Westen gegenwärtig nicht möglich, die Beziehungen zwischen der EU und Russland sind seit der Ukraine-Krise auf einem Tiefpunkt. Das Verhhältnis zwischen Russland und den USA ist geprägt durch die nie vollständig überwundene Erbschaft des Kalten Krieges, die militärische Großmachtkonkurrenz, den Wettbewerb um regionale Einflusssphären, konträre politische Leitbilder und eine sich wechselseitig verstärkende Missachtung des Völkerrechts. Russlands Außenpolitik zielt auf Wiederherstellung des Großmachtstatus der ehemaligen Sowjetunion, auf Verhinderung von demokratischen Regimewechseln und Ausnutzung der Spaltungen im westlichen Lager. Russland sucht den Schlulterschluss mit China, ist allerdings in der Rolle eines Juniorpartners.
