    Abstract: Simultaneous double-sided MIG welding as alternative method for joining the skin-stringer T-joints were investigated. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the welded joints were examined. Our study showed that a distance of 27-mm (torch to surface) results in the best weld appearance. Shorter distance produces higher heat input and causes the material stringers to melted with the filler, while longer distance increases the number of porosity and prevents the formation of a complete fusion zone.

    Abstract: Pondok Pesantren Asy-Syifa' Muhammadiyah (PPAM) in Yogyakarta established several Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) including production units of tempeh, mineral water, coffee, and donut. The main obstacle experienced by the MSMEs is the traditional marketing system which limits the sales of products. The current program aimed to assist the adoption of information technology, especially in marketing techniques using social media and e-commerce. The activities included discussions with MSMEs owners, socialization of marketing techniques, creating social media accounts, making of product catalogs, and evaluation. In general, all the activities could be carried out as targeted. After participating in this program, the MSME owners at PPAM are able to use social media and e-commerce to increase product marketing and sales.

    Abstract: Total Disc Replacement (TDR) implant is part of the prosthesis to treat degenerative disease by retaining the maneuverability of the disk itself. The TDR implant allows to repair the movement of the spines, absorbs the friction of intervertebral discs, and restore the height of the vertebrae. In this study, we constructed a new model of TDR implant, which is feasible to be mass-produced in Indonesia and performed static test to examine the mechanical properties of the new model. Before starting the prototype production, the finite element simulation is necessary. Simulation using Abaqus 6.14 software show that our design is safe from mechanical failure. The simulation test was performed using the static general model, non linear by considering the plasticity of UHMWPE material. Manufactured using CNC 3 Axis and the prototype was tested with ASTM 2077 standards, using two calibration model on horizontal position and tilted position of 27° to measure the compressive strength and shear strength respectively.

    Abstract: Peningkatan pendapatan akan meningkatkan taraf hidup suatu masyarakat. Tujuan dari programPengabdian Masyarakat dengan skim Kemitraan Masyarakat adalah untuk memanfaatan teknologitepat guna produksi susu kedelai dan memudahkan pekerjaan manusia sehingga dapat meningkatkanproduksi susu kedelai. Pedukuhan Jetis yang mayoritas penduduknya bekerja sebagai buruh tak menentu,perlu diberi pelatihan untuk menambah wawasan dan memberikan peluang pengembangan sumber dayayang dimiliki. Subjek program kemitraan adalah warga masyarakat Jetis Desa Gilangharjo, KecamatanPandak Kabupaten Bantul. Tahapan pelaksanaan program meliputi sosialisasi program kegiatan,mengundang pakar yang kompeten pada bidang pengolahan kedelai menjadi produk susu kedelai murnidalam kemasan dan pemasaran online. Warga dilibatkan sebagai pelaku pembuat produk susu kedelaimurni dalam kemasan dan melakukan pemasaran, serta pembuatan izin produk. Target luaran yangdihasilkan dari program kemitraan masyarakat ini adalah: 1) publikasi pada media masa cetak atauonline atau repository Perguruan Tinggi, 2) peningkatan daya saing (peningkatan kualitas, kuantitas,serta nilai tambah barang, jasa diversifikasi produk, atau sumber daya lainnya), 3) peningkatanpenerapan iptek di masyaratakat (mekanisasi, IT dan manajemen), 4) perbaikan tata masyarakat (senibudaya, sosial, politik, keamanan, ketentraman, pendidikan, kesehatan), 5) inovasi teknologi tepat guna.

    Abstract: CFRP structures are often exposed to humid environment resulting in water absorption and causing property degradation. Water swelling and its effect on tensile, compressive, and flexural properties were investigated according to ASTM standards. Fracture modes were evaluated by analyzing micrographs of fracture areas. The specimens were cut from twill wave CFRP composite plates fabricated using a vacuum infusion technique. Some of them were immersed in water prior to being mechanically tested. It was found that tensile strength, as well as compressive, and flexural strength and moduli decreased due to water swelling, but fracture strain was found to increase due to water swelling. The most severely affected by water swelling is flexural strength (decreased by 25.72%), and the least is compressive modulus (decreased by 1.89%). Tensile specimens underwent fibre breakage followed by matrix cracking, compressive and flexural specimens showed fibre buckling followed by kinking and crushing where flexural specimens failed in their compressive side. In conclusion, water absorption has a bad impact on the composite strength.

    Abstract: Handcycle is a transportation tool for individuals with lower limb disabilities. This study designed a handcycle as a mode of transportation to facilitate the accessibility of persons with disabilities. The design of the handcycle was designed on a prototype scale. It referred to recumbent and synchronous frame geometry types for arm crank set up to do finite element analysis studies using Autodesk Fusion 360 software to find the value of the strength of the handcycle frame design. A decent frame at 160 kg loading with a critical value of 330 MPa was designed and became a reference for the handcycle production process.

    Abstract: Penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh sudut kampuh V pengelasan SMAW terhadap sifat mekanis sambungan las pada material pipa API 5L X46 telah dilakukan. Proses pengelasan dilakukan dengan sambungan butt-joint kampuh V tunggal menggunakan material pipa API 1104 5L grade X46 dengan tebal pipa 12,7 mm. Sudut kampuh yang digunakan adalah 45º, 50º, 55º, 60º, 65º, 70º, dan 75º. Sambungan lasan kemudian dilakukan beberapa pengujian meliputi inspeksi visual, uji NDT RI, uji metalografi menggunakan standar ASTM E340-15, uji kekerasan menggunakan standar ASTM E92-82, dan uji bending menggunakan standar API 1104. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar sudut kampuh las maka heat input dan waktu proses semakin besar. Secara umum kekerasan HAZ dan WM meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan sudut kampuh. Nilai kekerasan sebesar 135,73 VHN pada HAZ, dan 146,19 VHN pada WM diperoleh pada sudut kampuh 75o. Tegangan bending maksimum pada root bend dan side bend test meningkat seiring dengan kenaikan sudut kampuh dan berturut-turut tercapai pada variasi sudut kampuh 60º sebesar 5.685 MPa dan 4.222 MPa, kemudian tegangan lentur menurun bila sudut kampuh membesar. Sudut kampuh 60o merupakan sudut kampuh optimal dari segi sifat mekanis sambungan dan produktifitas proses pengelasan.

    Abstract: Abstrak: Desa wisata Manding terletak di Yogyakarta dan mengusung usaha kerajinan kulit sebagai pilar utama perekonomian. Berkaca dari kendala yang dialami selama pandemi COVID-19, UMKM di Manding membutuhkan pendampingan terkait adopsi penggunaan teknologi informasi untuk sarana promosi. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan terkait integrasi media sosial dan e-commerce dalam usaha. Sebanyak 12 orang pengurus UMKM Sepatuku dan Fatimah Handicraft di Manding dilibatkan sebagai mitra. Program yang sudah dilaksanakan mencakup pelatihan pembuatan akun media sosial dan e-commerce serta penyusunan foto katalog dan video profil. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui tanya jawab informal, observasi kualitatif, dan diskusi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pengurus UMKM menjadi paham terkait peran penting teknologi informasi untuk mendukung penjualan produk. Selain itu, melalui program ini, mitra juga bisa membuat akun dan menggunakan media sosial serta e-commerce untuk sarana promosi.Abstract: The Manding tourism village in Yogyakarta relies on leather crafting as the backbone of its economy. In light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Manding are seeking assistance with leveraging information technology to promote their businesses. This community service program was initiated to provide training for integrating social media and e-commerce platforms into their operations. The program partnered with 12 staff members from MSME Sepatuku and Fatimah Handicraft. The training covers areas such as creating social media and e-commerce accounts, and compiling catalog photos and video profiles. Informal questions, qualitative observations, and discussions were used to evaluate the program's effectiveness. The results of the evaluation and monitoring demonstrate that the MSME staff members appreciate the crucial role of information technology in supporting their sales. At the conclusion of the program, the partners are now equipped to create accounts and effectively utilize social media platforms for promotional purposes.

    Abstract: A study to determine the effect of rotational speed and geometric shape of a tool on the mechanical properties of polypropylene joint using the FSSW technique has been carried out. A polypropylene sheet was cut into pieces with a dimension of 150 x 30 x 5 mm. A medium carbon steel bar was machined to fabricate welding tools. Two types of devices with shoulder angles of 0° and 5° were prepared, while the other parametric geometries were the same. While the friction stir spot welding (FSSW) process has been carried out at variations of rotational speeds of 985, 1660, and 2350 rpm, the other welding process parameters, such as tool plunge rate, dwell time, and delay time, were considered constant. The tensile shear load capacity, macrostructure, hardness, and failure mode of the joint results were then evaluated. The results revealed that using a pin tool with a shoulder angle of 5° achieved a maximum tensile shear load capacity at a rotational speed of 2350 rpm with a result of 2253 N due to its wider nugget area. The load capacity increased with the increase of rotational speed. A pin tool angle of 15° with a shoulder angle of 5° may be suggested for the tool’s chosen geometry.
