Abstract:
Crack-free K(Sr 0.75 Ba 0.25 ) 2 Nb 5 O 15 (KSBN75) thin films were successfully synthesized by the chemical solution deposition method. A homogeneous and stable precursor solution was prepared by controlling the
reaction of metallo-organics. KSBN75 precursor powders were directly crystallized in the tetragonal tungsten bronze phase without formation
of a low-temperature phase above 650° C. KSBN75 thin films on MgO(100) and Pt(100)/MgO(100) also crystallized in the tetragonal
tungsten bronze phase with preferred c -axis orientation at 700° C. Two
crystal lattice planes of KSBN75 were intergrown at an orientation of 18.5° on MgO(100) and Pt(100)/MgO(100) substrates. The Curie point of KSBN75 thin film was around 70° C at 10 kHz. KSBN75 thin films on
Pt(100)/MgO(100) substrates exhibited typical P-E hysteresis.
