Abstract: Abstract The Chinese Panorpa species without anal horn are normally assigned to the Panorpa davidi group. Here, we taxonomically revise the P. davidi group, which currently includes 17 known species and four new species: P. gaokaii sp. nov., P. huayuani sp. nov., P. uncinata sp. nov. and P. yaoluopingensis sp. nov. Panorpa shanyangensis Chou & amp; Wang, 1981 and P. sexspinosa zhongnanensis Chou & amp; Ran, 1981 are treated as junior synonyms of P. sexspinosa Cheng, 1949. We describe for the first time the male of P. stigmosa Zhou, 2006, and the females of P. curva Carpenter, 1938, P. davidi Navás, 1908, P. difficilis Carpenter, 1938, P. fructa Cheng, 1949, and P. jinchuana Hua, Sun & amp; Li, 2001. A key to species of the group is provided. Phylogenetic analyses of maximum parsimony and maximum likelihood based on 79 morphological characters show that the newly defined P. davidi group is a well-supported monophyletic group and is sister to the genus Cerapanorpa Gao, Ma & amp; Hua, 2016.

Abstract: Eleven species of the spider family Agelenidae Koch, 1837 are reviewed based on the type material and transferred from the genus Agelena Walckenaer, 1805 to Mistaria Lehtinen 1967. These species occur in various African countries as indicated and include: M.jaundea (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♂, Cameroon), M.jumbo (Strand, 1913), comb. nov. (♂♀, Central & amp; East Africa), M.kiboschensis (Lessert, 1915), comb. nov. (♂♀, Central & amp; East Africa), M.keniana (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Kenya), M.lawrencei (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Zimbabwe), M.longimamillata (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Mozambique), M.moschiensis (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Tanzania), M.mossambica (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Mozambique), M.nyassana (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, Malawi), M.teteana (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♂, Mozambique) and M.zuluana (Roewer, 1955), comb. nov. (♀, South Africa).

Abstract: During an investigation of Xylariaceae from 2019 to 2020, isolates representing eight Nemania (Xylariacese) species were collected from Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan Provinces in China. Morphological and multi-gene phylogenetic analyses, based on combined ITS, α-actin, rpb2 and β-tubulin sequences, confirmed that six of them are new to science, viz. Nemania camelliae , N. changningensis , N. cyclobalanopsina , N. feicuiensis , N. lishuicola and N. rubi ; one is a new record ( N. caries ) for China and one is a known species ( N. diffusa ). Morphological descriptions and illustrations of all species are detailed. In addition, the characteristics of Nemania are summarised and prevailing contradictions in generic concepts are discussed.

Abstract: Several micro fungi were gathered from bamboo and palm in Guizhou Province, China. In morphology, these taxa resemble Neomassaria , Roussoella and Oxydothis . Multi-gene phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS, LSU, SSU, rpb 2 and tef 1 loci confirmed that two are new geographical records for China, ( viz. Roussoella siamensis , Neomassaria fabacearum ), while two of them are new to science ( viz. Oxydothis fortunei sp. nov. and Roussoella bambusarum sp. nov.). The stromata of Roussoella bambusarum are similar to those of R. thailandica , but its ascospores are larger. In addition, multi-gene phylogenetic analyses show that Oxydothis fortunei is closely related to O. inaequalis , but the J- ascus subapical ring as well as the ascospores of O. inaequalis are smaller. Morphological descriptions and illustrations of all species are provided.

Abstract: Based on phylogenetic analyses, some newly studied Chinese mushroom specimens were found to represent two distinct species within the genus Gymnopus . Along with G. fusipes (sect. Gymnopus) they form a distinct clade with high support, although their macromorphological characters seem to be closer to members of Gymnopus sect. Levipedes or sect. Vestipedes (Collybiopsis). When examined in detail, their micromorphological characters, especially the type of pileipellis, support them as new members of G. sect. Gymnopus. Therefore, two new species, G. omphalinoides and G. schizophyllus , and the emended circumscription of sect. Gymnopus are proposed in this paper. Detailed morphological descriptions, colour photos, illustrations of the two new species, morphological comparisons with similar taxa and the molecular-phylogenetic analyses of the combined nrITS and nrLSU data are presented. A key to the known species of G. sect. Gymnopus is also presented.

Study of η′ → π+π−l+l− decays at BESIII

Abstract: With a sample of (10087 ± 44) × 10 6 J/ψ events accumulated with the BESIII detector, we analyze the decays η ′ → π + π − l + l − ( l = e, μ ) via the process J/ψ → γη ′. The branching fractions are measured to be $$ \mathcal{B} $$ B ( η ′ → π + π − e + e − ) = (2 . 45 ± 0 . 02(stat . ) ± 0 . 08(syst . )) × 10 − 3 and $$ \mathcal{B} $$ B ( η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − ) = (2 . 16 ± 0 . 12(stat . ) ± 0 . 06(syst . )) × 10 − 5 , and the ratio is $$ \frac{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)}{\mathcal{B}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)}=113.4\pm 0.9\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 3.7\left(\textrm{syst}.\right) $$ B η ′ → π + π − e + e − B η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 113.4 ± 0.9 stat . ± 3.7 syst . . In addition, by combining the η ′ → π + π − e + e − and η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − decays, the slope parameter of the electromagnetic transition form factor is measured to be b η ′ = 1.30 ± 0.19 (GeV /c 2 ) − 2 , which is consistent with previous measurements from BESIII and theoretical predictions from the VMD model. The asymmetry in the angle between the π + π − and l + l − decay planes, which has the potential to reveal the CP -violation originating from an unconventional electric dipole transition, is also investigated. The asymmetry parameters are determined to be $$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{e}^{+}{e}^{-}\right)=\left(-0.21\pm 0.73\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ A CP η ′ → π + π − e + e − = − 0.21 ± 0.73 stat . ± 0.01 syst . % and $$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}\left({\eta}^{\prime}\to {\pi}^{+}{\pi}^{-}{\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)=\left(0.62\pm 4.71\left(\textrm{stat}.\right)\pm 0.08\left(\textrm{syst}.\right)\right)\% $$ A CP η ′ → π + π − μ + μ − = 0.62 ± 4.71 stat . ± 0.08 syst . % , implying that no evidence of CP -violation is observed at the present statistics. Finally, an axion-like particle is searched for via the decay η ′ → π + π − a, a → e + e − , and upper limits of the branching fractions are presented for the mass assumptions of the axion-like particle in the range of 0 − 500 MeV /c 2 .

Abstract: Using 24.1 fb − 1 of e + e − collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the Born cross sections and effective form factors of the $$ {e}^{+}{e}^{-}\to {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ e + e − → Σ + Σ ¯ − reaction are measured. The measurements are performed at center-of-mass energies ranging from 3.510 to 4.951 GeV. No significant evidence for the decay of the charmonium(-like) states, ψ (3770), ψ (4040), ψ (4160), Y (4230), Y (4360), ψ (4415), and Y (4660), into a $$ {\Sigma}^{+}{\overline{\Sigma}}^{-} $$ Σ + Σ ¯ − final state is observed. Consequently, upper limits for the products of the branching fractions and the electronic partial widths at the 90% confidence level are reported for these decays.

Abstract: Bumble bees are vital to our agro-ecological system, with approximately 250 species reported around the world in the single genus Bombus . However, the health of bumble bees is threatened by multiple factors: habitat loss, climate change, pesticide use, and disease caused by pathogens and parasites. It is therefore vitally important to have a fully developed phylogeny for bumble bee species as part of our conservation efforts. The purpose of this study was to explore the phylogenetic relationships of the dominant bumble bees on the Tibetan plateau and in northern China as well as their placement and classification within the genus Bombus . The study used combined gene analysis consisting of sequence fragments from six genes, 16S rRNA, COI, EF-1α, Argk, Opsin and PEPCK, and the phylogenetic relationships of 209 Bombus species were explored. Twenty-six species, including 152 gene sequences, were collected from different regions throughout China, and 1037 gene sequences representing 183 species were obtained from GenBank or BOLD. The results suggest that the 209 analyzed species belong to fifteen subgenera and that most of the subgenera in Bombus are monophyletic, which is in accordance with conventional morphology-based classifications. The phylogenetic trees also show that nearly all subgenera easily fall into two distinct clades: short-faced and long-faced. The study is the first to investigate the phylogenetic placement of Bombus turneri (Richards), Bombus opulentus Smith, Bombus pyrosoma Morawitz, Bombus longipennis Friese, Bombus minshanensis Bischoff, and Bombus lantschouensis Vogt, all of which are widely distributed throughout different regions of China. The knowledge and understanding gained from the findings can provide a molecular basis to accurately classify Bombus in China and to define strategies to conserve biodiversity and promote pollinator populations.

Abstract: In the current study, three species reported from Kenya are transferred from Agelena Walckenaer, 1805 to Mistaria Lehtinen, 1967, i.e. M.fagei (Caporiacco, 1949), comb. n. , M.nairobii (Caporiacco, 1949), comb. n. and M.zorica (Strand, 1913), comb. n. One new species M.nyeupenyeusi G.M. Kioko & amp; S. Li, sp. n. is described.
