Abstract:
In this study, the extract obtained from animal manure was added to the biomass including tea fabrication waste, and it was composted by windrow method at 70% humidity condition. Changes in temperature, pH, EC, C/N ratio, N and organic carbon content of compost pile were determined during the 30 days of composting process. According to the results, the temperature of the compost pile reached the thermophilic phase at 2nd day, the highest temperature was determined at 3rd days as 60°C and thermophilic phase completed at 26th days. The C/N ratio of tea waste, which was 22.56 at the beginning, decreased to 10.44 at the end of 30 days. According to the color analysis results, the initial tea waste was 2.5YR3/4, while the final product tea compost was determined as 10YR2/1. At the end of the experiment, it was determined that tea fabrication wastes could be successfully composted with only microbial inoculation by windrow method without mixing with any other plant and animal wastes.
