Abstract: Introduction: Competitive swimming is one of the popular sports, where physical conditioning and skill have a large contribution in achieving high-level performances. In males, the second to fourth digit ratio (2D:4D) have lower values than females but the mean digit ratio remains the same with age. This ratio is considered to be a biomarker of the balance between Foetal Testosterone (FT) and Foetal Oestrogen in a nearly embryonic stage. Aim: To determine the correlation of 2D:4D ratio in swimming beginners. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional pilot study was conducted in the swimming pool facility of Banaras Hindu University Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India from March 2019 to June 2019. A total of 118 (59 females and 59 males), swimming beginners participants having age between 18 to 27 years were selected and cross-sectional samples were taken for the study. Participants passed all the stages of swimming learning under a well-trained coach for six weeks. In the last week of swimming learning, final performance assessment tests were conducted. For which six minutes was given to each participant and the total distance covered during swimming was measured in meters. Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated from measured height and weight. The left and right 2D:4D ratio, height and length of participants were recorded and analysed for correlation. The collected data were analysed using a Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS),16.0 version. Results: A total of 118 participants, 59 males and 59 females, with mean age of the male participants was 21.37±3.52 years and the mean age of the female participants was 20.64±2.63 years. The mean 2D:4D ratio of both right and left hand digits in both sexes was 〈 1. In males, the right hand 2D:4D ratio was negatively correlated (r=-0.444) with swimming learning performance and it was found significant (p-value=0.004) but the left hand 2D:4D ratio was negatively correlated (r=-0.176) which was not significant with swimming learning performance. In female’s right hand, the 2D:4D ratio and BMI were negatively correlated which was not significant with swimming learning performance (r=-0.095, r=-0.018, respectively). Conclusion: The study shows a significant 2D:4D ratio correlation with swimming learning performance in males right hand. So, 2D:4D ratios can be used as reliable criteria as a predictor of swimming learning and swimmer’s competitive performance however, it needs further extensive study.

Abstract: Introduction: Anthropometry is an essential technique to understand the variations in the human body that is implicated during various reconstructive surgical procedures, and for the identification of individual during crime scene in forensics. Analysis of ear morphology plays a role in understanding the sexual dimorphism and stature in the human population. It has been found that the ear morphology changes from one region to another. Aim: To study the morphometric parameters of the ear for stature estimation, and to identify sexual dimorphism in north Indian population. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study of 200 subjects (100 males and 100 females) aged 17-25 years was conducted in the Department of Anatomy, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. The study participants were selected from the MBBS, BDS and Nursing undergraduates studying in Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The various aspects of ear morphology (ear length, ear width, lobule length, lobule width) were measured. Student’s t-test, Karl Pearson’s Coefficient of Correlation and Linear regression equation were calculated. Results: The mean age for males were 19.17 years and females were 19.52 years. Measurements for ear length, width and lobule width of both ears were higher in males than females. The mean right and left ear length in males were 60.77±3.74 and 59.99±3.83 mm, and that for females were 56.59±3.044 and 55.55±3.68 mm, respectively. The mean right and left ear width in males were 30.60±2.81 and 30.81±2.69 mm and that for females, the values of ear width for right and left ears were 28.55±3.12 and 28.81±2.80 mm, respectively. A strong correlation between right and left ear length and stature in females were observed using linear regression coefficient analysis. The correlation coefficient between stature to right and left ear length in females were 0.554 and 0.51, respectively (p-value=0.030). Conclusion: Ear length and width, and lobule width of the right and left ears were significantly higher in males. There were no significant differences observed in lobule length. There was a strong correlation between the stature and right and left ear length in females, moderate strength of association was seen in stature with ear width and lobule length in females.

Abstract: In this article, an ultra‐thin compact polarization insensitive dual band absorber based on metamaterial for X‐band applications has been presented. The unit cell of proposed absorber structure consists of resonator I and resonator II printed on the top of metal backed FR4 epoxy dielectric substrate of thickness 0.6 mm. The proposed structure offers two absorption peaks at the frequency of 8.51 and 9.12 GHz with peak absorption value of 99.33 and 99.49%, respectively. The FWHM bandwidth of proposed absorber structure at 8.51 GHz is 400 MHz (8.33 −8.73 GHz) and at 9.12 GHz is 430 MHz (8.89–9.32 GHz). The absorptivity of the designed absorber structure has been also investigated under various polarization and oblique incident angles. The absorption behavior of the designed absorber structure has been studied by illustrating electric field and surface current distribution plots. Additionally, the absorption behavior of the proposed absorber structure has been also explained using input impedance plot. Dispersion diagram plot has been used to explain the metamaterial property of the designed absorber structure. The proposed absorber structure shows compactness of 0.173 λ o and 0.185 λ o and exhibits ultra‐thin thickness of 0.017 λ o and 0.018 λ o with respect to the absorption peaks of 8.51 and 9.12 GHz, respectively. To perform the experimental measurement, the proposed absorber structure has been fabricated. It is seen that the measured result shows good agreement with the simulated one.

Abstract: Steganography is the approach of camouflaging the covert object within another cover object. This manuscript suggested a novel steganography approach to conceal the covert data presence. The basic idea behind this is to generate an information-hiding approach that increases the payload capacity and good PSNR value without sacrificing much distortion of the image. Objectives: To develop a novel data-hiding approach that increases imperceptibility, robustness, and payload capacity. Methods: The Neighbour Mean Interpolation technique is used to scale up the original image to generate Interpolated pixels of the given image. An even-odd scheme on the interpolated stego pixel is used to camouflage the obscure code. MATLAB is used for the implementation of the new approach and results calculation. Results: The Experimental analysis reveals that our suggested approach has a finer embedding capacity for camouflaging the secret data as the original image of size (MxN) is scaled up to size (2M- 1 x2N-1) and also manages the good visuality of the cover or graven image. The proposed method is compared with Jung and Yoo, and Selvrani's method. The result of this comparison shows that the proposed method has finer imperceptibility than these two previously existing techniques. Conclusion: A novel approach towards image steganography using neighbor mean interpolation has been proposed and implemented. A new steganography method is used for camouflaging the confidential code into the cover object using NMI without producing any major differences in the input image. The new approach provides better imperceptibility, robustness, and payload capacity.

Abstract: Introduction: Furcal perforations can occur during access cavity preparation while locating the canal orifices. This must be sealed immediately. After the repair of furcal perforation, endodontic treatment should be performed with various irrigants to clean the root canal system. This procedure causes unavoidable contact of endodontic irrigants with the site of furcal repair. Aim: To evaluate the effect of root canal irrigants on the marginal integrity of furcal perforation repair material using protein leakage assessment. Materials and Methods: This in-vitro study was conducted from June to September of 2021 in Kalinga institute of dental sciences, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. A total of 90 extracted mandibular molars with intact furcation were used. Access cavities were prepared. Based on the repair materials, samples were randomly divided into two groups. An artificial perforation of diameter 2 mm was made in the furcation area. The specimens were divided according to the furcation perforation repair materials used: Biodentine, Endosequence (n=45 each). Perforations were filled with Biodentine, Endosequence. They were then subdivided into three subgroups, each containing samples of (n=15) according to the irrigating solutions used. Each group was irrigated with 0.2% Chitosan, Chloroquick, and 5.25% Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) for two minutes, respectively. Protein {Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA)} microleakage was checked by preparing apparatus having upper, lower chamber. Protein leakage through the furcation repair material into the lower chamber was assessed by Ultraviolet (UV) visible spectrophotometry. The microleakage was assessed with a reagent Coomassie Brilliant BlueG-250 daily for 60 days. Intergroup comparisons were made using one way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Test. The multi group comparisons were made using Tukey Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) tests. Results: A 0.2% Chitosan showed more protein leakage than Chloroquick over a period of 60 days (p 〈 0.0001), as compared to the baseline, 30 days values with both the furcation repair materials. A 5.25% NaOCl irrigated samples exhibited highest protein leakage among all the irrigants. Conclusion: Biodentine has a better sealing ability than Endosequence BC sealer. Chloroquick proved to be the better irrigant as compared to Chitosan, Hypochlorite in terms of affecting sealing of furcation repair materials.
