Abstract:
A Lei de Normalización Lingüística, vixente na Comunidade Autónoma de Galicia desde 1983, establece como obxectivo principal que o ensino obrigatorio ten que garantir a adquisición dun nivel equiparable de competencia nas linguas galega e castelá. A pesar de que se teñen realizado estudos para avaliar o nivel de competencia bilingüe (ex. Rodríguez e Rubal, 1987; Rubal, 1992), estes adoitan referirse a aspectos parciais, polo que non existen, polo momento, datos que permitan coñecer o grao de cumprimento deste obxectivo desde unha perspectiva global na Comunidade Autónoma. A Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, coa colaboración da Real Academia Galega e o Consello da Cultura Galega, está desenvolvendo un proxecto de investigación denominado “Análise das competencias bilingües ao final do ensino obrigatorio na Comunidade Autónoma de Galicia”, financiado pola Xunta de Galicia, un proxecto multidisciplinar no que participa un equipo investigador composto por lingüistas, sociólogos e psicólogos e no que se aborda a avaliación da competencia bilingüe (en galego e castelán) atendendo a un amplo conxunto de fenómenos. O obxectivo deste artigo é a medición do nivel de competencia bilingüe na expresión escrita do alumnado de 4º da ESO da comarca de Santiago de Compostela e a súa relación con variables de carácter sociodemográfico, sociolingüístico e educativo por medio dunha proba experimental, consistente na elaboración de dúas redaccións, unha en galego e outra en castelán.
