Abstract:
A summary of Ferruccio Busoni's theories as set forth in his writings, particularly in “A New Aesthetic of Music”; Arnold Schoenberg's use of the term “Tone Colour Melody”; a description of the term “sonority forms” and the use of these in musical compositions; the use of electronic musical instruments in the early part of the 20th century; the use of these instruments in the period from 1920 to 1945 with reference to works by composers Honegger, Hindemith, Varèse, Levides, and others; the works of the Parisian “Musique Concrete” group, the Cologne group, the Milan and New York groups, using these resources now, will be given.
