Abstract:
Los países del Sur no son homogéneos; las características propias de cada uno y los perfiles de su relación respecto al resto del mundo difieren cada vez más. La categoría de “países emergentes” incluye aquellos países sistémicamente importantes y con interés de participar activamente en arenas de política y economía globales. Estos países emergentes se agrupan, formal o informalmente, con los del Sur Global y con otros países desarrollados en “clubes” que aspiran a proveer las ventajas de gobernanza global (como en el G20). Dichas agrupaciones han revelado en años recientes las tensiones entre países emergentes y los demás, al tiempo que, como conjuntos proliferan, se reconfiguran y propician nuevos escenarios internacionales.
