Abstract:
No Brasil, a população vem passando por um rápido processo de envelhecimento, devido à significativa redução da taxa de fecundidade e aumento da longevidade dos brasileiros. Com as mulheres vivendo mais e a consequente interrupção da função ovariana, elas se tornam mais sujeitas às doenças crônicas comumente associadas a menopausa, como a hipertensão arterial. Diante disso, este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a influência de um programa de hidrocinesioterapia nos níveis pressóricos de mulheres menopáusicas. Trata-se de um estudo de intervenção, do tipo longitudinal, realizado na Clínica Escola de Fisioterapia da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, no período de fevereiro de 2018 e março de 2019. Participaram desta amostra 17 mulheres, na faixa etária entre 60 e 70 anos, menopáusicas e sedentárias com um ano de amenorreia. As participantes foram submetidas a um programa de hidrocinesioterapia em piscina aquecida, dois dias por semana, durante uma hora e meia cada sessão. Os dados coletados foram analisados utilizando-se o software SPSS. Foi utilizado o teste de Shapiro-Wilk para verificar a normalidade da amostra e o teste de Wilkoxon para comparar as medidas antes e após a intervenção, adotando um nível de confiabilidade de 95% e p 〈 0,05%. Ao comparar-se as pressões finais do 1º dia de sessão as finais do 30º dia, houve uma diminuição estatisticamente significativa. Além disso, no período pós intervenção, os níveis de pressões arteriais sistólica e diastólica, foram significativamente menores, havendo uma redução média de 6,5 mmHg da pressão arterial sistólica e 6,0 mmHg da diastólica.
