Abstract:
ABSTRACT A questionnaire was administered to explore the psychiatrists' attitude toward the role of the Psychiatric Nurse Therapist (PNT). The responses of 200 psychiatrists (44% usable response rate) were scored for knowledge of the role and hypothetical utilization of the PNT. Attitude was assumed inferable from utilization scores. Data analysis revealed that attitude is positively correlated with knowledge of the role and prior contact with the PNT.
