Abstract:
As complicações cirúrgicas ainda são um aspecto frustrante da prática médica. Por motivos variados, esses eventos podem ocorrer, acarretando em uma recuperação mais demorada e onerosa. No pós-operatório, é importante que o cirurgião avalie de forma cuidadosa todas as feridas cirúrgicas, a ingestão e o débito do paciente, perfis de temperatura, níveis de dor, níveis de atividade e estado nutricional. Unindo o cuidado médico com o engajamento do indivíduo operado em guardar seu próprio repouso, as chances de um melhor prognóstico são maiores. Esta revisão narrativa de literatura reuniu artigos das bases de dados PUBMED e SciELO objetivando apontar o quadro clínico, as principais causas e o tratamento para casos de seroma e hematoma. Concluiu-se que a prevenção de complicações tem início na avaliação pré-operatória e percorre todas as fases cirúrgicas. É premente, portanto, que se avalie medidas profiláticas para casos específicos como em implantação de telas de politetrafluoretileno e em cirurgias realizadas em pacientes com coagulopatias. A precisão do tratamento em algumas situações pode impedir que infecções severas ou outros comprometimentos mais graves leve o paciente ao óbito, tornando o discernimento do quadro clínico fundamental para o médico iniciar sua conduta terapêutica.
