Abstract:
Dans les villes secondaires du Cameroun comme Dschang, les maladies hydriques sont recrudescentes. Les eaux des cours d'eau sont utilisées pour l'arrosage des cultures. Le but de ce travail était d'évaluer le risque sanitaire lié à l'irrigation des légumes (laitue, carotte et aubergines) dans les bas‐fonds de Dschang. E. coli , les kystes d' Entamoeba spp. , les œufs Ascaris lumbricoides, les éléments majeurs et traces ont été recherchés dans les légumes collectés de 18 parcelles. Les résultats montrent que le maraichage est pratiqué principalement dans les bas‐fonds qui reçoivent toutes les usées non traitées de la ville. L'eau du cours d'eau utilisée pour l'arrosage des cultures renferme environ 4,2 Log (UFC de E. coli ) dans 100 ml, quelque soit la saison. Les œufs et kystes de parasites y ont été détectés. Les légumes analysés ont une teneur en éléments chimiques faible et acceptable. Indépendamment des saisons, E. coli a été nettement supérieur à la norme acceptable (10 3 UFCg −1 MS), de 5 à 58 fois sur les légumes. Les œufs et les kystes de parasites ont également été détectés. Ces parasites et bactéries représentent un risque réel pour les consommateurs et serait en partie responsable de la recrudescence des maladies hydriques dans cette ville. © 2019 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
