Abstract:
Introdução: a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), considera como idoso, aquele habitante de País em desenvolvimento com 60 anos ou mais e o habitante de País desenvolvido que tenha 65 anos ou mais. Com o surgimento do novo coronavírus, SARS-CoV-2, o isolamento social tornou-se o meio mais recomendado para prevenir sua transmissibilidade, sendo os idosos, a população mais vulnerável. Objetivo: analisar a associação existente entre o isolamento social ocorrido durante a pandemia da COVID-19, com a funcionalidade, a qualidade de vida (QV) e a saúde psicológica da população idosa. Métodos: revisão integrativa de estudos observacionais publicados entre 2020-2022 em qualquer idioma, com a combinação de termos e palavras-chaves específicos para esta revisão, utilizando os operadores booleanos OR e AND. Foi realizada busca nas bases de dados PubMed, Embase, CENTRAL, CINAHL, Web of Science, Science Direct, PEDro e BVS. Resultados: dos 11.391 registros identificados, 2.801 foram removidos por serem duplicados, restando 8.590 estudos para avaliação por título e resumo, dos quais 8.484 foram excluídos por não abordarem o tema sugerido nesta revisão, sendo analisados 106 estudos com o texto completo, assim ao final 15 artigos foram incluídos na revisão integrativa. Conclusão: o contexto de isolamento social relacionado ao cenário pandêmico da COVID-19 trouxe consigo reduções para a QV, assim como para a saúde física e mental da população idosa. Sendo assim, os resultados desta revisão podem contribuir para o processo de tomada de decisão quanto as ações de prevenção e promoção da saúde para os idosos.
