Abstract:
Navigation requires investment, investment in training and establishing navigators and supporting them to provide navigation to patients. The cost-effectiveness of patient navigation weighs the investment required against the effect produced. The result is a measure of the value provided by navigation. The aim of this presentation is to present data from the PNRP experience estimating the investment required to implement patient navigation and the resulting economic impact on diagnostic and treatment services, weighed against the effect of patient navigation on the PNRP intermediate outcomes of time to diagnosis, time to treatment, patient satisfaction and patient quality of life.
