Abstract:
Seit Ende der 1950er Jahre war der Kumpel im Ruhrbergbau immer öfter ein Türke. Obwohl der Bergbau eine schrumpfende Branche war, stieg der Anteil der in ihr beschäftigten Arbeitsmigranten an. Hans-Christoph Seidel erläutert in seinem Beitrag die Spezifika dieser Arbeitskräftepolitik und analysiert vor deren Hintergrund, wie die Bergbaugewerkschaft auf die Herausforderungen reagierte, die sich für sie daraus ergaben. Er beginnt seine Untersuchung mit der Etablierung des „Gastarbeiter“-Systems und führt sie bis in die 1980er Jahre fort, als die Politik die Zeichen auf eine „Förderung der Rückkehrbereitschaft“ umstellte.
