Abstract:
É sempre conveniente lembrarmo-nos de que entre os Antigos gregos e romanos não se praticava qualquer reflexão teórica abstrata exclusiva sobre a questão da tradução, como a concebemos hodiernamente. As alusões à prática da tradução e a problemas a ela relacionados ocorrem de forma fragmentária em variados gêneros textuais, sempre acompanhados de outros temas. Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 a.C.- 65 d.C.) imortalizou-se como um dos grandes pensadores romanos e filósofos estóicos, autor de vasta e renomada obra.
