Abstract: Improved identification of individuals with type 2 diabetes at high cardiovascular (CV) risk could help in selection of newer CV risk-reducing therapies. The aim of this study was to determine whether retinal vascular parameters, derived from retinal screening photographs, alone and in combination with a genome-wide polygenic risk score for coronary heart disease (CHD PRS) would have independent prognostic value over traditional CV risk assessment in patients without prior CV disease. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Patients in the Genetics of Diabetes Audit and Research Tayside Scotland (GoDARTS) study were linked to retinal photographs, prescriptions, and outcomes. Retinal photographs were analyzed using VAMPIRE (Vascular Assessment and Measurement Platform for Images of the Retina) software, a semiautomated artificial intelligence platform, to compute arterial and venous fractal dimension, tortuosity, and diameter. CHD PRS was derived from previously published data. Multivariable Cox regression was used to evaluate the association between retinal vascular parameters and major adverse CV events (MACE) at 10 years compared with the pooled cohort equations (PCE) risk score. RESULTS Among 5,152 individuals included in the study, a MACE occurred in 1,017 individuals. Reduced arterial fractal dimension and diameter and increased venous tortuosity each independently predicted MACE. A risk score combining these parameters significantly predicted MACE after adjustment for age, sex, PCE, and the CHD PRS (hazard ratio 1.11 per SD increase, 95% CI 1.04–1.18, P = 0.002) with similar accuracy to PCE (area under the curve [AUC] 0.663 vs. 0.658, P = 0.33). A model incorporating retinal parameters and PRS improved MACE prediction compared with PCE (AUC 0.686 vs. 0.658, P & lt; 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Retinal parameters alone and in combination with genome-wide CHD PRS have independent and incremental prognostic value compared with traditional CV risk assessment in type 2 diabetes.

Abstract: There has been a great deal of discussion in recognizing the rundown of advertising blend components. The conventional showcasing blend by McCarthy (1964) has pulled together Bordens (1965) 12 components and has contained to four components of item, value, advancement and spot. Various analysts have moreover proposed including individuals, process and physical proof choices (Booms and Bitner, 1981; Fifield and Gilligan, 1996). The other proposed Ps are work force, physical resources and methods (Lovelock, 1996; Goldsmith, 1999); personalisation (Goldsmith, 1999); distributions (Melewar and Saunders, 2000); associations (Reppel, 2003); premium value, inclination of organization or item, bit of generally speaking client spending plan and perpetual quality of by and large relationship life span (Arussy, 2005); and 2P+2C+3S recipe (Otlacan, 2005), in this way personalisation, protection, client assistance, network, site, security and deals advancement.

Abstract: In the wake of the warning by WHO that the prevalence of dementia may have a rise of 125% in the Middle East by 2050, identification of the genetic risk factors in Arab populations is urgent. Objective: To investigate the association of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) in apolipoprotein E (ApoE), clusterin (CLU), tumor necrotic factor- α (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) genes, with risk of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in Saudi Arabian participants. Method: A total of 42 Saudi AD patients and 23 age-matched control participants were genotyped for eight SNPs: rs429358, rs7412 (ApoE); rs11136000, rs1532278 (CLU); rs1800629, rs1799724 (TNF-α) and rs1800796, rs1800795(IL-6), by RT-PCR using the TaqMan assay. Serum concentrations of amyloid beta peptide 1–40(Aβ1-40), amyloid beta peptide 1–42(Aβ1- 42), CLU and some other biochemical markers were measured. Results: A significant increase (p=0.004) in the serum CLU level was detected in the AD group (340.4 ± 74.6) compared with control group (265.0 ± 80.9). For rs1532278 (CLU), genotype GA was significantly higher in AD patients (57.1%) than in the control participants (26.1%), [p=0.024, OR = 4.00, 95% CI (1.20-13.28)] . For the ApoE SNP rs7412, 40.4% of patients carried a TT genotype, whereas it was completely absent in the controls [p = 0.020, OR = 30.53, 95% CI (1.73 – 540.05)].For rs429358 (ApoE), patients showed a significantly increased frequency of the TC genotype [p = 0.006, OR = 9.33, 95% CI (1.89–46.19)] and TT [p = 0.045, OR = 19.76, 95% CI (1.07–366.0)] genotype than controls. AD patients with CC genotype for ApoE rs429358 had significantly lower levels of Aβ1-40 (p=0.04) in AD patients than controls. Carriers of genotype GG for rs1800629 (TNF-α) showed significantly higher levels of serum IL-6 (p = 0.04) in AD patients. Conclusion: Genetic variants in ApoE and CLU may influence susceptibility to AD among Saudi Arabian participants.

Abstract: Growth of a nation does not refer to the development of infrastructure, innovations and technology. In fact it is truly associated with the development of all citizens in terms of their standard of living. A country travels in development path if all the people are caught up in the process of growth and enjoy quality of living by accessing to basic facilities of life such as food, clothing, housing, health, clean water, education, employment and good natural and social environment. It all happens when economy is sound and have consistent growth rate. In our country the economic growth rate is directly depends on the development of rural areas as it is the backbone to the economy. Providing financial support to rural people is a Hercules task as they do not maintain any formal and necessary documents, failing which banks or any other financial institutions do not grant even a single penny. In this connection, Microfinance institutions help the people in rural areas with a variety of services with minimal documentation. It includes loan, savings, credit, money transfer, insurance, pension and other financial innovations etc. In this research an attempt is made to ascertain new approaches to measure the impact of microfinance in the development of rural areas.

Abstract: BACKGROUND One of the most widely used methods to record horizontal condylar guidance is the use of protrusive interocclusal records. Therefore, this study was done to evaluate the reliability of protrusive interocclusal record with and without the influence of anterior determinant on horizontal condylar guidance among dentulous patients. METHODS Diagnostic impressions of 21 participants were made and casts were poured. Facebow record were obtained and transferred to semi-adjustable articulator. Protrusive interocclusal records were made using Alu-wax. In group 1, protrusive interocclusal records were obtained at incisal edge to edge position (conventional method). In group 2, 3 and 4 protrusive interocclusal records were obtained at a distance of 4 mm, 6 mm and at incisal edge to edge position respectively using a customized flat anterior jig. Programming of the Hanau articulator were done for all the 4 groups. One-way ANOVA test and Pearson’s correlation tests were done to compare and correlate horizontal condylar guidance. RESULTS The mean values obtained for flat anterior jig at incisal edge to edge position, at 4 mm and 6 mm provided good Pearson correlation values for the right (R = 0.773, R = 0.779, R = 0.632) as well as the left side (R = 0.631, R = 0.601, R = 0.545) respectively, on comparison with the conventional incisal edge to edge values. This indicated a positive correlation which was statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS The horizontal condylar guidance is influenced by anterior determinant. Therefore, the reliability of protrusive records is dependent on eliminating the influence of anterior determinant. Abstract: In recent years there has been increased discussion of the subjective, emotional and sociological factors influencing student choice of university. However, there is a dearth of information exploring what constitutes these feelings. This exploratory paper uses the conceptual model of the servicescape to provide insight into the emotional factors driving student choice. In-depth interviews with prospective students revealed that first impressions really do count. Students are deterred by poor physical environments and excited by enthusiastic staff and students. Most significantly, the study revealed the necessity of a restorative servicescape to provide both a sense of escape and feeling of belonging. This paper contributes to broadening the application of the servicescape model and to a greater understanding of the impact of the environment on prospective students, and creates an opportunity to inform policy by providing university marketing decision makers with a better understanding of what constitutes the university environment and what makes it appealing to prospective students.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence ratio of outdoor advertisements on survey participants (consumers) and to measure the effects on participants' purchasing behavior. The research also attempted to specify the different characteristics of outdoor advertisements in comparison to other advertising instruments. The other research aims are to designate the status of outdoor advertisements among the advertisement instruments which are thought to have an effect on the purchasing behavior of consumers and to determine the effects and dimensions of outdoor advertisements. A face-to-face interview survey is conducted on 200 respondents who are selected with non-random sampling. Data were analyzed by using T-test, variant analysis and factor analysis. The result of the analysis shows that people generally have positive opinions about outdoor advertisements. They think that outdoor advertisements are more eye-catching and creative when compared to other advertisement types and their physical size lends them an effective visual impact. Respondents also stated that outdoor advertisements contribute to the cityscape in terms of variety and beauty, and they do not pollute the environment. However, awareness of outdoor advertisement amongst some people is relatively low. The results of the study indicate that outdoor advertisements which create different ideas, which are effective in informing and persuading people and which are sensitive to the environment can be viewed positively by consumers. In particular, amongst consumers with higher educational and income levels, outdoor advertisements are becoming striking and their visibility is increasing.
