Abstract:
We report a limiting mechanism which determines a spectral tuning range of a pulsed Ti:sapphire laser by injection-tuning. An analytical model has been developed to estimate an attainable tuning range based on the theory of Q-switched operation. It was found that a maximum achievable tuning range was limited between 740 and 840 nm without using any intracavity tuning elements in the Ti:sapphire laser by injection-tuning. These results were compared with experimental results.
