Abstract:
Résumé L’élection de Barack Obama laisse espérer un renouveau des relations entre l’Allemagne et les États-Unis, d’autant plus que la population allemande a manifesté un large soutien en faveur de ce candidat. Les relations transatlantiques resteront néanmoins marquées par des constantes. Les États-Unis n’excluront pas le recours unilatéral à la force militaire si leurs intérêts de sécurité étaient en jeu ; le lien transatlantique restera une relation entre deux partenaires inégaux. Par contre, face aux défis mondiaux (protection de l’environnement, désarmement et maîtrise des armements, rapprochement avec la Russie, développement du système financier international, stratégies de stabilisation des situations de conflit régionales...), les positions de l’Allemagne et des États-Unis devraient se rejoindre et la coopération s’imposer.
