Abstract: During an investigation of Xylariaceae from 2019 to 2020, isolates representing eight Nemania (Xylariacese) species were collected from Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan Provinces in China. Morphological and multi-gene phylogenetic analyses, based on combined ITS, α-actin, rpb2 and β-tubulin sequences, confirmed that six of them are new to science, viz. Nemania camelliae , N. changningensis , N. cyclobalanopsina , N. feicuiensis , N. lishuicola and N. rubi ; one is a new record ( N. caries ) for China and one is a known species ( N. diffusa ). Morphological descriptions and illustrations of all species are detailed. In addition, the characteristics of Nemania are summarised and prevailing contradictions in generic concepts are discussed.

Abstract: In this study, fifteen species of Gallerucida Motschulsky, 1860 (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae), with spotted elytra, from China are reviewed, including one new record: G. balyi (Duvivier, 1885), six new species: G. fortispina Xu & Yang, sp. nov. , G. levifasciata Xu & Nie, sp. nov. , G. nigrovittata Xu & Yang, sp. nov. , G. octodecimpunctata Xu & Yang, sp. nov. , G. piceusfasciata Xu & Yang, sp. nov. , G. rufipectoralis Xu & Nie, sp. nov. , and Aplosonyx gansuica (Chen, 1942), comb. nov . is removed from genus Gallerucida . A key to the spotted-elytron species of Gallerucida from China is given as well as habitus photographs of the related species and Aplosonyx gansuica comb. nov. and photographs of the aedeagus of each new species.

Abstract: Apremilast (AP) {systematic name: ( S )-2-[1-(3-ethoxy-4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(methylsulfonyl)ethyl]-4-acetamidoisoindoline-1,3-dione} is an inhibitor of phosphodieasterase-4 (PDE4) and is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with active psoriatic arthritis. The ability of AP to form solvates has been investigated and three so lvatomorphs of AP, namely, the AP ethyl acetate hemisolvate, C 22 H 24 N 2 O 7 S·0.5C 4 H 8 O 2 , the AP toluene hemisolvate, C 22 H 24 N 2 O 7 S·0.5C 7 H 8 , and the AP dichloromethane monosolvate, C 22 H 24 N 2 O 7 S·CH 2 Cl 2 , were obtained. The three AP solvatomorphs were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction was used to analyze the structures, crystal symmetry, packing modes, stoichiometry and hydrogen-bonding interactions of the solvatomorphs. In addition, dissolution analyses were performed to study the dissolution rates of different AP solvatomorph tablets in vitro and to make comparisons with commercial apremilast tablets (produced by Celgene); all three solvatomorphs showed similar dissolution rates and similar values of the similarity factor f 2 in a comparison of their dissolution profiles.

Abstract: Several micro fungi were gathered from bamboo and palm in Guizhou Province, China. In morphology, these taxa resemble Neomassaria , Roussoella and Oxydothis . Multi-gene phylogenetic analyses based on combined ITS, LSU, SSU, rpb 2 and tef 1 loci confirmed that two are new geographical records for China, ( viz. Roussoella siamensis , Neomassaria fabacearum ), while two of them are new to science ( viz. Oxydothis fortunei sp. nov. and Roussoella bambusarum sp. nov.). The stromata of Roussoella bambusarum are similar to those of R. thailandica , but its ascospores are larger. In addition, multi-gene phylogenetic analyses show that Oxydothis fortunei is closely related to O. inaequalis , but the J- ascus subapical ring as well as the ascospores of O. inaequalis are smaller. Morphological descriptions and illustrations of all species are provided.

Abstract: In this study, five new species of the leaf-beetle genus Monolepta Chevrolat, 1836 (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae, Galerucinae) are described from China: M. albipunctata sp. nov. , M. alticola sp. nov. , M. bivittata sp. nov. , M. mengsongensis sp. nov. , and M. rubripennis sp. nov. A key and catalogue to the 68 Chinese species of Monolepta with the second and third antennomeres of equal length are given as well as photographs of the habitus and aedeagus of the new species and type habitus images of 37 known species.

Abstract: Three arecophila-like fungal samples were collected on dead culms of gramineous plants in China. Morphological studies of our new collections and the herbarium specimen of Arecophila gulubiicola (generic type) were conducted and the morphological affinity of our new collections with Arecophila was confirmed. Maximum likelihood and Bayesian analyses using combined ITS, LSU, rpb 2 and β-tubulin data from our collections revealed the phylogeny of Cainiaceae . The monospecific genus Alishanica (type species Al. miscanthi ), which had been accepted in Cainiaceae , is revisited and synonymised under Arecophila . Based on morphology and phylogeny, Arecophila australis sp. nov. and A. clypeata sp. nov. are introduced as new species, while A. miscanthi is a new record for China. All the new collections are illustrated and described.

Abstract: Oreocharis qianyuensis , a new species of Gesneriaceae from Southwest, China, is described and illustrated based on morphological comparisons and molecular phylogenetic analyses. Phylotranscriptomic analyses of the new species in the context of a comprehensive phylogeny with dense sampling of 88% (111/126) of all species of the genus indicated that the new species was most closely-related to O. fargesii . The new species is morphologically similar to O. fargesii and O. nanchuanica in the shape, color and structure of flowers and the number of stamens, but differs in the leaf blade shape, margin and the indumentum characters of the inflorescence. Its morphological relationship with similar species is discussed, the detailed descriptions, colour photographs, distribution, as well as the IUCN threatened status based on the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria are also provided.

Abstract: A new species of the genus Tigridiopalma , formerly considered monotypic, is here described as T. exalata and illustrated based on molecular and morphological evidence. It is morphologically similar to T. magnifica in having a short stem, huge basal leaves, scorpioid cymes, and 5-merous flowers, but differs in having ribbed and pale yellow puberulent petioles, purple petals with a small white apical patch, connectives of longer stamens with a distinct dorsal short spur at their base, and wingless capsules. Due to the restricted distribution, small populations and horticultural potential of this new species, it should be categorized as an Endangered species (EN).
