Abstract:
OBJETIVO: avaliar por meio da cefalometria radiográfica, o comportamento dos pontos A e B em pacientes com maloclusão classe II, divisão 1 (Angle) submetidos à correção ortodôntica. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de estudo longitudinal prospectivo. Foram avaliadas as telerradiografias cefalométricas laterais iniciais e após tratamento ortodôntico de 46 pacientes na faixa etária de 11 a 15 anos, portadores de maloclusão classe II, divisão 1 de Angle, com ângulo ANB inicial variando entre 2,5 e 10 graus, e cujos resultados do tratamento foram considerados satisfatórios. Para a realização do estudo cefalométrico, foram considerados os ângulos SNA, SNB, ANB, 1.NA, l.NB, SN.Pp e SN.GoMe. A análise estatística foi realizada no programa JAMOVI. Foi realizada análise descritiva dos dados por meio de frequências absolutas e relativas, médias e desvio-padrão. Para comparar as diferenças inicial e final entre as medidas, foi utilizado o teste t pareado. O nível de significância considerado foi de 5% (p 〈 0,05). RESULTADOS: Após o tratamento ortodôntico, foi observada redução dos ângulos SNA (diferença média= 1,00, p 〈 0,001), ANB (diferença média= 1,54, p 〈 0,001), 1.NA (diferença média= 9,44, p 〈 0,001) e SN.Pp (diferença média= 0,92, p=0,002) e aumento do ângulo SNB (diferença média= -0,54, p=0,004). CONCLUSÃO: Houve movimentação posterior do ponto A e anterior do ponto B e rotação da maxila no sentido anti-horário.
