This paper examines whether the usage of roads and expressways under the Electronic Road Pricing, a congestion tax, truly corresponds to the law of demand, that is, whether it is effective in reducing traffic volumes during peak hours when the tax is imposed. Our empirical results partially support the hypothesis that traffic volume should be higher during periods when the Electronic Road Pricing rates are lower.
