Content: "Glagoljaška Muka Kristova“ zanimljiva je kompilacija 7 filoloških studija (ukupno 7 rasprava) koje kroz dodatnu kulturološku percepciju otkrivaju najatraktivniji dio starije hrvatske pisane riječi, one glagoljaške, a kroz odabrani tekstovni korpus Muke Kristove daju i najzanimljiviji prilog Europassionu, europskom nasljeđu pučke pasionske baštine. U tom smislu, Kristova je muka bila i još jest vječno nadahnuće svim umjetnicima svih umjetnosti, a ovom je knjigom postala nadahnuće nekolicine hrvatskih istraživača humanističke filološke usmjerenosti kojima se pridružila i jedna etnoglazbena – neizostavna sastavnica pasionskih promišljanja. Okupljene filološke studije razotkrivaju lingvističku osjetljivost glagoljaša u 14. i 15. stoljeću, "zlatnom dobu hrvatskoga glagolizma“ kada su jezik i pismo bili ključni nositelji hrvatskoga identiteta. Kroz tekstološke studije Kristove Muke na reprezentativnom hrvatskoglagoljskom liturgijskom književnom korpusu (npr. Hrvojev misal, Novakovu misalu, Pariškom zborniku Slave 73, Ročkom misalu, Prvotisku iz 1483, Senjskom misalu itd.) otvara se diskurs u promišljanju u priređivanju liturgijskoga glagoljskoga teksta, gdje je duhovnost Muke zajednička snaga tekstologa i muzikologa nekad (anonimnih) i sad (znanih). Content: The palaeography of the first Slavic script – the Glagolitic script – is being published in English language for the first time. Unlike former historiography-based palaeographic textbooks, this study is linguistically substantiated. After presenting the elemental historical and philological knowledge on the creation of the script and its relation to the parallel Slavic script – the Cyrillic – the author goes on to distinguish the development of those linguistically-based segments (e.g. graphemes) from the means that optimize the transfer of linguistic message through the visual writing system. The evolution of letter forms is being observed in the long process of minusculization. The coordination of letters in lines and the readjusting of their forms to the four line system turned out to be the ‘spiritus movens’ of the changes not only in the letter forms but in the script’s entire visual appearance as well. At the focus of interest, there are the oldest Macedonian, Bulgarian, Czech and Croatian Glagolitic texts of the 10th and the 11th century.

Content: Wenngleich es einzelne Arbeiten mit vergleichenden Ansätzen zur Erforschung der Interpunktion gibt, ist eine kontrastive Interpunktionsforschung, die typologische, soziolinguistische, pragmatische und didaktische Aspekte integriert, bisher nicht zu erkennen. Im Feld der Vergleichenden Interpunktionsforschung, der mit diesem Band überhaupt erst ein Name gegeben wird, existieren Forschungsdesiderate wie etwa die Vergleichende Interpunktionsdidaktik oder die Vergleichende Interpunktionskodikologie. Der Band zeigt die dynamische Entwicklung der Interpunktionsforschung in den letzten Jahren. Er untersucht diese unscheinbaren nichtalphabetischen Zeichen kontrastiv aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven und etabliert damit die Vergleichende Interpunktion als eigenständige linguistische Forschungsrichtung.
