Der ‹Keltenschatz von Füllinsdorf› sorgte 2011 für grosses mediales Aufsehen. Das um 90–70 vor Christus niedergelegte Ensemble von 355 Silbermünzen ist der grösste erhaltene Edelmetall-Münzhort dieser Epoche im Gebiet der heutigen Schweiz. Über ein Jahr lang war der Fund geheim gehalten worden, weil sich rasch herausstellte, dass er nicht die einzige wertvolle Deponierung an diesem Hang war. Nach intensivem Absuchen des Geländes und gezielten Nachgrabungen steht fest: Von der späten Latènezeit bis ans Ende der Römerzeit, in einem Zeitraum von rund 500 Jahren, wurde der markante Hügel oberhalb der römischen Koloniestadt Augusta Raurica wiederholt aufgesucht, um Münzen und weitere kleine Gegenstände – wohl als Gaben an eine übergeordnete Macht – niederzulegen. Darüber hinaus zeugen Funde vom Neolithikum bis in die Neuzeit von der intensiven Begehung des strategisch günstig gelegenen Höhenzugs am Eingang zum Ergolztal. Das Buch legt die Funde vom Büechlihau vor und lotet aus, unter welchen Umständen sie in den Boden gelangt sein könnten. Ein besonderes Augenmerk gilt dabei den spätlatène- und römerzeitlichen Deponierungen. In welchen Kontext gehören sie? Welche Rückschlüsse lassen sich namentlich aus dem ‹Keltenschatz› im Hinblick auf die frühgeschichtliche Wirtschafts- und Kulturgeschichte ziehen?
