Ob antik mit Stempelbremse und Karbidlampe, ein Bike mit selbst gebasteltem Holzrahmen oder das teure Designerrad - in diesem Fotoalbum von Simon Akstinat sind ca. 90 Räder und ihre Besitzer porträtiert: Mehr oder weniger prominente Berliner geben bereitwillig Auskunft über ihre besondere Beziehung zu den z.T. sehr auffälligen Zweirädern, die alle in täglichem Gebrauch die Straßen der Hauptstadt befahren. Beim Autor und Fotografen (hier zuletzt "Bibel vs. Koran", ID-B 20/11) kommen hauptsächlich die Radler selbst zu Wort, meist stellt er sie nur mit Beruf, eventuell Herkunft bei jüngst Zugereisten vor oder erzählt schon mal eine Anekdote, wie die über den bundesweit bekannt gewordenen Diebstahl von Ströbeles Rad vor dem Reichstag. - Für Bibliotheken sicherlich keine Pflichtanschaffung, aber hält man das Buch erst mal in den Händen, so bleibt man am Blättern, bis man auch noch erfahren hat, warum auffällige Räder in Berlin und anderswo eine Art Versicherung gegen Diebstahl darstellen.
