Albert Einstein (1879-1955) ist nicht nur einer der bedeutendsten Physiker und Nobelpreisträger des 20. Jahrhunderts, sondern insgesamt eine herausragende Geistesgröße und zugleich eine der bekanntesten Symbolfiguren. Sein Privatarchiv befindet sich in der Jüdischen National- und Universitätsbibliothek der Hebräischen Universität in Jerusalem. Vorwiegend aus diesem Privatarchiv werden hier mehrere hundert Dokumente und Fotos gezeigt zur Person, zu seinen wissenschaftlichen Leistungen, zu seinem pazifistischen Engagement, seinem jüdischen Selbstverständnis, seinen Hobbies seinen Beziehungen zu Kindern. Entstanden ist ein sehr lebendiges und plastisches Bild des großen Wissenschaftlers, das seinen Drang nach Freiheit, seinen vielschichtigen Charakter, seinen Einsatz für die Wissenschaft und seinen nie versiegenden Humor zeigt. Insgesamt ein ergreifendes, da sehr persönliches Werk, das trotz des relativ hohen Preises wegen der Bedeutung Einsteins und der außergewöhnlichen Darstellung neben einschlägigen Biografien Bibliotheken sehr empfohlen werden kann.
